The biometric is a study of human behavior and features. Face recognition is a technique of biometric. Various approaches are used for it. A survey for all these techniques is in this paper for analyzing various algorithms and methods. Face recognition is emerging branch of biometric for security as no faces can be defeated as a security approach. So, how we can recognize a face with the help of computers is given in this paper. Face Recognition plays a major role in Biometrics. Feature selection is a measure issue in face recognition. This paper proposes a survey on face recognition. There are many methods to extract face features. In some advanced methods it can be extracted faster in a single scan through the raw image and lie in a lower dimensional space, but still retaining facial information efficiently. The methods which are used to extract features are robust to low-resolution images. The method is a trainable system for selecting face features. After the feature selection procedure next procedure is matching for face recognition. The recognition accuracy is increased by advanced methods.
The information and data gathering in plenitude, there is an essential requirement for high security. Biometrics has now gotten more consideration. Face biometrics, a valuable tool for a man\\\'s verification is a basic and non-meddlesome technique that perceives face in complex multidimensional visual model and builds up a computational model for it. This paper reveals the recognition of the face and then followed by examining the strategy and working. From the above observations, we focused our attention to the latest face recognition techniques posting their favourable circumstances and inconveniences. A few procedures determined here were additionally enhance the proficiency of face recognition under different brightening and demeanor state of face images. The goal of this paper is to present a critical survey of existing literatures on human face recognition.
System that relay on face recognition biometrics have gained great impact on security system since security threats are imposed weakness among the implemented security system. Other biometrics which used for security like fingerprints have some issues and they are not trust worthy. In this survey paper we discussed different types of existing face recognition techniques along with their pros and cons. Face recognition is not a simple thing its very complex system because in face recognition if the user hide their face with sunglasses or hide the face with hijab then its difficult task to recognize the face for that purpose in face recognition used different types of techniques which can recognize the faces in this survey paper we discussed these techniques.

Face recognition has now become one of the interesting fields of research and has received a substantial attention of researchers from all over the world. Face recognition techniques has been mostly used in the discipline of image analysis, image processing, etc. One of the face recognition techniques is used to develop a face recognition system to detect a human face in an image. In face recognition system a digital image with a human face is given as an input which extracts the significant features of face such as (eyes, nose, chin, cheeks, etc) to recognize a face in a digital image which is an exhausting task. Security of information is very salient feature and is difficult to achieve. Security cameras are present in offices, universities, banks, ATMs, etc. All these security cameras are embedded with face recognition systems. There are various algorithms which are used to solve this problem. This paper provides an overview of various techniques which are often used for this face recognition in a face recognition system. This paper is divided into five parts, first section concludes various face detection techniques, second section describes about image processing ,third section have details about face recognition techniques, fourth section describes various classification methods and last section concludes all of these sections.

Face recognition is one of the most used technologies for security and privacy in electronic gadgets, automotive industry and other domains as well. It is also the most reliable form of biometric authentications. In the present paper the basic process of Face Recognition technology, biological aspects behind the smooth functioning of face recognition, conditions affecting the process (consisting of twins face, hairstyle change and time-to-time face change due to ageing) have been explained. Effort has also been made to enumerate the uses of face recognition in different technological approaches and the huge market value for this emerging biometric solution.

Nowadays to provide better security mechanism, biometrics system usage is increasing day by day. It work on the modalities like iris, fingerprint, face, palm-print etc. Face recognition uses the human face for the identification or verification of a person. It has application in various places like homes, airports, laptops etc. It is used in security systems because of its ability to provide high security. The aim of this paper is to present a survey of existing literature on face recognition extraction techniques. The focus is on techniques; how the features of face can be extracted and a template is created that can be used for fast matching procedure. This paper also shows the darker side of the face recognition system by enlisting few possible problems associated with it. Finally a summary of feature extraction techniques is given in conclusion.

In recent years, the biometrics has achieved a great attention on a world level. A Biometric System operates by getting biometric information from a personal that extracts a feature set from the data which is acquired, and helps in comparing this feature set against the template stored in the database. There are biometric technologies which could either be physiological or behavioral. Face Recognition is having the importance to provide biometric authentication with easy image acquisition that can be used for online and offline applications. There are number of existing approaches for biometric facial recognition and classification. This paper gives a review on some of the common and reliable approaches which include PCA, LDA, SVM, SIFT, SURF, etc.

Face Recognition is non-intrusive method of identifying individual faces by the feature extraction and classification of faces. Recently face recognition has received lots of attention of researcher; it can be conclude that it is mature yet fruitful area for researcher. In past decades lots of approaches for face recognition and feature extraction techniques have been developed, along with their modification. This paper provides a brief review of major face recognition techniques. Earlier section presents an overview of face recognition and its applications. Then, a literature review of face recognition approaches followed by recent techniques is given. The most prominent feature extraction and techniques are also given. A Brief overview of classifiers is also presented. Finally paper summarized all research results discussed.
Face recognition is considered as one of the emerging topics in computer vision application. Currently biometric research is mainly focused on automated face recognition in various applications such as surveillance application in various public security measures. Face recognition is a biometric system used to categorize or authenticate a person from a digital image by extracting its features and then distinguishing it, regardless external conditions. This learning version has mainly two motives: first one is the extensive assortment of profitable and regulation implementation claims, second is the convenience of possible skills. This paper is organised as three sections. The first section describes brief introduction to face recognition. The second section types of face recognition and various problems affecting the process and finally third section describes a comparative study of different face recognition methods.
