Historische Präparate des Neunbinden-Gürteltiers Dasypus novemcinctus Linnaeus, 1758 RagnaR Kinzelbach Kurzfassung Ein angeblich aus der PRaunschen Sammlung, Nürnberg, aus dem 16./17. Jahr hundert stammendes Präparat eines Neun binden-Gürtel tiers wird vor ge stellt und auf seine Provenienz unter sucht. Es wurde wahrscheinlich von Herzog Paul von Württemberg in Brasilien gesammelt. Zum Vergleich werden weitere alte Dokumente hin zu ge zogen. Abstract Historical mounted specimens of the Nine-banded Armadillo Dasypus novemcinctus Linnaeus, 1758 A mounted specimen of a Nine-banded Armadillo allegedly was part of the famous PRaun collection at Nuremberg from the 16 th to 17 th century. It is presented here and a first approach to its provenience is made. It was probably collected in Brazil in the 19 th century by Count Paul of Württemberg. Further old documents have been compared.

This article explores the different components of a lamaistic shrine from Mongolia which is part of the collection of the Ethnologisches Museum in Berlin since 1933. The author tries to reconstruct the biography of this complex object in order to reveal its original religious function, time of creation and the person it was dedicated to. The history of the object within the museum sheds light on the curatorial conception in the 19th century, which eventually led to the loss of important bronzes from within the shrine and thus compromising the integrity of the piece.
