The Kerameikos excavation of the DAI’s Athens Department celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2013/2014: On 16 July 2013, a celebration at the archaeological site with speeches by the Greek Minister of Culture and Sports, Panos Panaiotopoulos (fig. 1), the DAI’s president, Friederike Fless, and others, followed by a reception marked the 100th anniversary of granting an excavation license for further research to the DAI. The actual start of the excavation was commemorated on 8 April 2014 with an international conference on sanctuaries and cults near city walls and city gates. Two research projects were carried out in 2012 and 2013. The first, started in 2011, focuses on water management in Athens. Multiple data, collected over the years at the Kerameikos excavation, help to broaden our understanding of Athenian water management within the classical city. A second project, started in 2010, has concentrated on the history of the sanctuaries at the Kerameikos. A special emphasis in 2012 ...

In W.K.Kovacsovics, Kerameikos XIV, 1990, S.142-150, bietet F.Willemsen die Erstveröffentlichung von einer Reihe Defixionen, die im Laufe der Ausgrabungen des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts auf dem antiken Athener Friedhof gefunden wurden. Ich vorschlage hier eine neue Ergänzung für die letzten Zeilen (8-9).

Während der ersten Grabungsjahre österreichischer Archäologen in Ephesosseit 1895konzentrierten sich die Arbeiten vornehmlich auf wenige Monumente, wie das Hafengymnasium und das antike Theater; Ruinen, die teilweise immer über der Erde sichtbar gewesen sind und lange bekannt waren. Im Theater von Ephesos hatte bereits John Turtle Wood in den 60 er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts gearbeitet und einzelne Funde nach London ins British Museum gebracht 1 .

The two cylindrical vessels with relief decoration from Greci and Tulcea (Tulcea County, Romania), assigned to the category of Cnidian relief ware / oinophoroi, are presented in the light of the latest discoveries and investigations of this category of Roman ceramics, taking into account their iconography and their technical and stylistic characteristics. The present analysis points out the existence of several examples of this category from the northern part of the province of Moesia inferior, and addresses also the question of production of this kind of Roman pottery. They are one more evidence of the region's trade relations with the Asia Minor region during the Roman period. Tulcea, România), atribuite categoriei oinophoroi de producție microasiatică, a atelierelor din Cnidos, sunt prezentate în lumina celor mai recente descoperiri și studii de specialitate dedicate acestei categorii de ceramică romană, luând în discuție iconografia acestora, precum și caracteristicile lor tehnice și stilistice. Prezenta analiză evidențiază existența unei concentrări de descoperiri aparținând acestei categorii în nordul provinciei Moesia inferior și abordează și problema producției acesteia. Descoperirile din regiune sunt o dovadă în plus a relațiilor comerciale cu Asia Mică în epoca romană.
