Quality of output in healthcare: An empirical study

Quality of output in healthcare: An empirical study

Nazim Taskin
Abstract
Quality of inter-professional outcomes is important in any organizational domain. In healthcare, quality of service can literally mean life and death. This paper investigates how quality of output is facilitated in a healthcare setting. Drawing from quality of output and information communication technologies research streams we develop a survey instrument to study healthcare quality and its antecedent factors. These factors are communication, information sharing, conflict resolution and interdependence. We test our model using a second generation multivariate statistical method. Our results show that communication facilitates quality through interdependence and conflict resolution. Moreover, information sharing capabilities mediate the relationship between communication and interdependence.
