Abstract

The war opposing the European powers from july, 28 1914 had quickly got out of the old continent since it affected their colonies. Those colonies sometimes became real battlefields. That the case of Cameroon, the german colony in central Africa. Among factors favouring the french-british success full combined action in that country are the nearness of Chad and Nigeria on one hand then French and English marines" presence on the other hand. France under took a great part of the conquest alone thanks to its possessions (colonies). Its troop safter guaranted free communication between French colonies, harrash the enemy in order to facilitate the action of the allies forces. In that way, they contributed to the Cameroon"s fall.
