TRE FRAMMENTI PER MILENA

Abstract

Text deals with painter and designer Milena Pavlović-Barilli (Požarevac, Serbia 1909 - New York, N.Y. 1945) who lived in France, Italy, England and USA and was connected to cultural circles of the most eminent artists, painters, musicians and writers, close to her father Italian composer, poet and journalist Bruno Barilli but also close to Surrealist movement. She made costume designs and ballets and opera in the States and advertising designs for famous periodicals and revues, and exhibited in the prestigious galleries. Comparison was offered with Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and 13 Milena's drawings are published for the first time.
