PHALLIC LAUGH IN TWO LICENTIOUS TALES OF ION CREANGĂ The greatest writer of tales of Romanian literature, Ion Creangă (1837-1889) became famous for its Amintiri din copilărie (‘Childhood Memories’), its tales and stories. The first serious monograph belongs to a Frenchman, Jean Boutière (La Vie et l’OEuvre de Ion Creangă 1837-1889, Paris, Librairie Universitaire J. Gamber, 1930) (‘Life and Work of Ion Creangă 1837-1889’) which speaks of the Rabelaisian tradition of it. We will stop at two licentious tales of Romanian author Povestea lui Ionică cel Prost (poreclit şi Ieremiea) [‘The Tale of Ionică the Fool’ and (also known as Jeremiah)’] and Povestea poveştilor (Povestea Pulei) [‘The Tale of All Tales (Tale of the Dick/Cock)].
