Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between religiosity and the feeling of work stress, as represented by Muslim attitudes towards the religiosity scale. Design/methodology/approach -A sample of 212 employees from the United Arab Emirates participated in the study. Frequencies, regression, ANOVA, and ratios were applied in the paper. Findings -The major results revealed that self-evaluation of faith level is not related significantly to any dependent variable. The majority of the respondents reported a low level of faith. Muslim females were identified to experience more work stress than males. Additional studies concerned with other religions can provide more comprehensive findings related to the relationship between religion and work stress. Originality/value -Multinational corporation and other business organizations can derive great benefit from the results of this paper with regard to business in Islamic countries.
Presently, there is increased in research on job strain and the effects of religiosity on employee well-being. Despite increased recognition of religiosity as a moderator of well-being, limited research has focused on Islamic perspective of moderating job strain. This study examines the moderating effects of Islamic personal religiosity on the relationship between job strain and employee well-being in Malaysian universities. One hundred and seventeen (117) Muslim academic and administrative staff from four public universities were sampled. Data were collected via questionnaires, and our findings show that the effect of job strain on well-being is significant for employees and that personal religiosity of employees contributed to alleviating job strain and enhancing well-being. Thus, the study concludes that Islamic personal religiosity moderates the relationship between job strain and employee well-being.
The present research hypothesized that employee religiosity can be used to cope with job stress in its relationship with job satisfaction. The study followed mixed method approach for data collection and data analysis. 160 employees were selected for survey through a structured questionnaire. The sampling technique used to collect quantitative data was “Purposive Sampling” because only managerial level of employees was targeted for study. Face to face interviews were conducted on convenience basis. Relationship among variables was discovered on gender basis also there was a strong correlation between employee religiosity/job stress, employee religiosity/job satisfaction, job stress/job satisfaction. Qualitative data analysis helped in specifying the direction of these relationships and moderating role of employee religiosity. Results depict that job stress is negatively associated with job satisfaction and job satisfaction decreases when job stress increases. Employee religiosity is negatively associated with job stress and job stress decreases when employee religiosity level increases. Employee religiosity is positively associated with job satisfaction and job satisfaction increases when employee religiosity level increases. Employee religiosity acts as a buffer between job stressors, impacting job satisfaction level and decrease the intensity of these stressors by providing a coping mechanism, which ultimately results in sustained or improved job satisfaction level.

This study examined the relationship of job stress with psychosomatic health problems, happiness in life, job satisfaction, job motivation, organizational commitment and turnover motivation in a sample of Muslims living in Canada and the USA. Data were collected by means of a structured questionnaire (N = 325). Results generally supported the prediction that job stress will be positively related to psychosomatic health problems and turnover motivation, and negatively related to happiness in life, job satisfaction, job motivation and organizational commitment. Degree of religiosity was proposed as a moderator of job stress-outcome relationships. The current study was conducted to examine: (1) the relation of work-family demands, that is, long working hours, inflexible work schedule, office work overload, household work, issues related to children and husbands with employees' well-being, and (2) the role of religiosity as a moderator of work-family demands and employees' well-being. The following hypotheses were proposed: (a) workfamily demands would be negatively related with employees' well-being; (b) religiosity would moderate the relation of work-family demands with employees' well-being. The researchers used 135 Muslim women of academic staff as respondents, working in the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their ages ranged from 30 to 60 years. The findings of the present study proved that, the hypothesis work-family demands was found to be negatively correlated with employees well being but another hypothesis was not proved as the religiosity was not moderating the relation of hypothesis work-family demands and well being. Hence, religiosity may not be effective to manage work family demands.

In total, 1345 staff of Iraqi municipalities were selected by simple random sampling in 2022, and two standardised questionnaires were utilised to collect the data. The content validity method was further recruited to determine the validity of the questionnaires, and the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used to measure the reliability. The present study explores the role of spirituality in achieving job satisfaction. Divine Economics Framework is used for quantifying the interrelationships between spirituality and worklife using empirical data of 383 workers from 5 districts of Azad Kashmir. The study analyzed the effect of spirituality level of workers on their subjective evaluation of their worklife (job satisfaction). An index of workers' spirituality is developed using Principle Component Analysis (PCA). The literature on theology and philosophy indicates that spirituality has many types which may lead to produce a systematically different human behavior. To test whether or not workers having different levels of spirituality have the same job satisfaction, Logistic regression technique is used. The results of given sample revealed that besides the conventional variables such as income, age, education, health, and job sector, a particular type of spirituality is a significant predictor of workers' job satisfaction. Our estimates relating to selected dimension of spirituality are presented to serve as new insights for further research in different types of spirituality at workplace. This study concludes that the Divine Economics Framework is relatively more capable to analyze economics of spirituality. The future research may utilize this framework to study the interrelationships of spirituality with workplace as well as other areas of economics.
