Eyes

'Eyes' is a monologue in iambic pentameter concerning a long-distance coach driver remembering and re-living his traumatised journey to Edinburgh for a cornea transplant. First performed in the Performance Lab workshop at Goldsmiths, University of London, in April, 2015, it had its first (brilliant) performance on stage by David Bibby at the Blackshaw Theatre New Writing Night at Hen and Chickens Theatre, Islington, September 19, 2016. I include a link to the recorded performance. 'Eyes' was published in the December, 2018 edition of Platform, Royal Holloway's Drama magazine. At the launch of that edition at the Bedford Square campus, the monologue was performed again - superbly - by Alexander Pankhurst. Alexander had directed David Bibby at the Blackshaw Theatre New Writing NIght in 2016.
