Comemorações, monumentos e museus: ações mediadoras para recordar

Este texto busca analisar formas de regulação e gerenciamento da visibilidade de um determinado grupo social do Rio Grande do Sul (1942-1980). A partir dos líderes do cooperativismo de crédito e do associativismo na cidade de Nova Petrópolis, que possuem como base fundadora Theodor Amstad S.J., identificamos rememorações sistemáticas desse líder fundador e suas ações desde 1942, até os dias atuais. As memórias constituídas e seus eventos podem ser entendidos como afetivos, ou como uma dominação simbólica, nesse caso, institucional. Entendemos que as comemorações e os lugares de recordar são capazes de criar um ambiente de familiaridade, empatia, afetividade e, por consequência, referenciais de identidade. O recordar do imigrante suíço tornou-se, ao longo do tempo, institucionalizado por aqueles que chamamos aqui de "notáveis da memória" por meio de festas em datas específicas e pelo erguimento de monumentos e museus. By looking at the leaders of the credit cooperativism and associativism in the city of Nova Petrópolis, which have at its founding base Theodor Amstad S.J., we identified systematic remembrances of this founding leader and his actions from 1942 up to the current days. The memories that have been built and their events can be understood as affective or as symbolic dominationinstitutional domination, in this case. We understand that the celebrations and the places of remembrance are capable of creating an atmosphere of familiarity, empathy, affectivity, and as a consequence, identity models. The remembrance of the Swiss immigrant became institutionalized in the course of time through the parties in specific dates and through the building of museums and monuments by those whom we will be referring to as the "notables of memory."
