This book examines the philosophy and practice of Hatha Yoga, focusing on the physical wellbeing and health of the body. It emphasizes a natural way of living that aligns with the principles of nature, critiquing modern practices that stray from natural living. The author encourages readers to observe and emulate the natural behaviors of healthy individuals to enhance their own health and vitality.
Today in the 21 st century we are faced with various global challenges for humanity and many other health issues such as debilitating chronic illnesses, and disorderly lifestyles which are continuously haunting the life of one and all and unfavorably affecting the balance of human life. It's a hard time to reconnect with our roots to find a stable and permanent solution and it can only be possible through YOG. Yoga is not just a gesture or posture only rather it's a way of living, an art of managing life. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline which originated in India. Yoga in Daily Life is an arrangement of practices consisting of different levels of development in the areas of physical, mental, social and spiritual health. When the body is physically healthy, the mind is clear, focused and stress is under control. This gives the space to connect with loved ones and maintain socially healthy relationships. The word "Yoga" originates from Sanskrit and means "to join, to unite". Yoga exercises have a holistic effect and bring body, mind, consciousness, and soul into balance. Therapeutic yoga that has evolved out of this branch of Yoga has benefitted a huge section of humanity cutting across continents irrespective of age, gender and socio-economic considerations. Unfortunately, this also has led to situation where yoga is being seen through the pin-hole of health and fitness. But as seen earlier, Yoga is a vast estate of knowledge that has the potential to unlock enormous possibilities in human beings. Even Haṭhayogapradīpikā, an important text on Haṭhayoga states “Haṭha is a ladder towards Rājayoga” (rājayogam āroḍhum icchoḥ adhirohiṇīva). Hatha should be practiced as a stepping stone towards the royal and grand objective of self –realization, beyond health benefits.
Today’s we are facing various Global Challenges for Humanity such as sustainable development & climate change, clean water, population & resources, democratization (crisis of faith), Long term perspectives (Economic recession), Global Convergence of IT, Rich-Poor gap, Health issues, capacity to decide, Peace & conflict (Stress), Status of woman, Transnational Organized Crime, Energy, Science & technology, Globe Ethics etc. are continuously haunting life of everyone and adversely affecting the balance of Human Life. So it's the time to reconnect with our roots to find the permanent solution for managing our Life and it can only be possible through YOG. Yoga is not merely a gesture or Posture only, rather it's a way of Living, It's the art of managing Life. In this particular paper the researcher has tried their level best to put forward the different main sutras from Indian Yogic text which clearly supports the present work and proves that Yoga is the only solution for bringing Health, Happiness & Harmony thereby resulting in Life management. Technological advancement has resulted in reduction of physical labour and increased mental labour.
