Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is utilized to characterize acute myocardial infarction (MI) and improve prognostic stratification. In a study of 29 patients, follow-up showed that myocardial hemorrhage was predictive of cardiac endpoints with 96.5% accuracy. While LGE parameters provided additional insights, T2-STIR imaging emerged as a superior method for long-term prognostic stratification during the acute phase of MI.
