Con-Textos Kantianos (International Journal of Philosophy) issue 2 contains some news compared to issues 0 (November 2014) and issue 1 (June 2015). For the first time one issue includes a monographic section, with the title Kant and the Meanings of Harmony, with Alberto Pirni from the Scuola Superiore di Sant'Anna, as guest editor. Next monographic sections are scheduled, devoted to subjects as Kant in East Europe and Kant’s Cosmopolitism, respectively edited by Vadim Chaly (IKBFU, Russia) and Pablo Muchnik (Emory College). Moreover, we launch a new section —Dossiers— with the dossier Kant’s Enlightenment. Other new is that Kant’s translation is not into Spanish this time, but into Portuguese, since CTK editorial team has considered interesting to encourage translations of Kant’s texts into the six languages admitted by CTK, but especially in Romance languages. The journal maintains sections as the Interviews, Discussions, Documents and Books’ Reviews. We study to enlarge the agenda of the journal launching a new publishing action inspired in the Sonderhefts of some prestigious journals, a collection of materials to be published once per year, containing results of international and multilinguistical Kant’s research. CTK Sonderhefts will accept collective volumes in the vein of Anglo-Saxon Companions, PhD essays, written in one of the six mentioned languages, selected by a call ad hoc, monographic studies in modalities senior and junior and finally Kant’s translations accurately introduced and critical edited, whose length would discourage to be included in a CTK issue.

Logic, Norms and Ontology. Recent Essays in Luso-Brazilian Analytic Philosophy Edited by João Branquinho and Guido Imaguire Disputatio aims at publishing first-rate articles and discussion notes on all aspects of analytical philosophy, but especially those dealing with current issues in the philosophies of language, logic, and mind, and also in epistemology and metaphysics, written in English or Portuguese. The discussion notes need not be on a paper originally published in our journal. Articles of a purely exegetical or historical character will not be published. Although book reviews are usually commissioned, we also welcome proposals for reviews of recent books. Disputatio practices double blind refereeing, and follows the 'Guidelines for the Handling of Manuscripts by the Editors of Philosophy Journals' of the Association of Philosophy Journal Editors. Disputatio also accepts proposals for special issues of edited volumes on specific relevant topics or philosophical problems. A detailed proposal is to be made to the editors of the journal, including a brief description of the topic, and why it is relevant, information about the editor or editors of the special issue, and of the contributors. The proposal should also contain an abstract or summary of the papers to be included. The editors of the special number of the journal must guarantee that the papers included are suitably refereed. The editorial committee has the final word on the acceptance of the included articles. Manuscripts with no more than 7,000 words should be typed, and will not be returned. They should also be prepared for anonymous refereeing. Authors are encouraged to submit articles by e-mail (please quote your paper's title). If submitting by regular mail authors must enclose an electronic version. Authors of accepted articles will be asked to prepare a final electronic version in accordance with Disputatio's style. Manuscripts are accepted for review under the understanding that the work submitted for publication has not been published elsewhere, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that it will not be submitted for publication elsewhere unless the editors of Disputatio have rejected it. Disputatio is published twice a year, in November and May.

Introducción. Consideraciones sobre la investigación científica. Una antología. , 2017
Abstract: Consideraciones sobre la investigación científica gathers José María Albareda's thoughts on what research is and what it should be when he had been dedicated to it for 20 years and ten years managing the state organization to promote it. The texts we have selected from this work show his reflective and passionate character for the research task. We have respected the structure of the work when presenting the fragments chosen to compose this anthology, and we have also allowed ourselves to make small changes to make more understandable in today's language the message that the author wanted to convey back in the forties and fifties of the last century. We think that they can be inspiring for those who today are beginning their research work or, after years of doing it, with a young spirit, have the desire to renew it.

Cetana: Journal of Philosophy, 2023
The conceptualizations on meanings of existence started with the ontological or metaphysical debates in philosophy. Then at the peak of modern times, the school of existentialism dealt with the issue of human existence particularly by citing individual freedom. In all these series of philosophizing, the human being was considered as a singular type entity who thinks and acts in the same way. So, the historical development of philosophical thinking has not brought enough solutions, with regard to the existential issues of human females and other genders. It is through the end of the modern period only, the identities of caste, class, religion, region, ethnicity, gender etc. were taken into serious scrutiny to see the intersectional issues while conceptualizing the ontic status of humans. This article is a look at these aspects of philosophizing in general, and in particular, it analyses the issues of gendered experiences of human beings in cultures. This will lead to examining the meanings of existence for women as a category with reference to the modern writings of Simone de Beauvoir. The possible existence of many genders and the issues in conceiving an essentialist category called woman or man, are being scrutinized in this article through the postmodern writings of Judith Butler. To analyze the experience of genders, this study draws references from various feminist philosophical standpoints and concentrates on the existentialist phenomenological writings of Simone de Beauvoir and the deontological phenomenology of Judith Butler. Key Words: existence, experience, meaning, deontology, gender, Butler, Beauvoir
This article aims to discuss some notions of research, particularly the notion of hyper-good, linked to the ideal of modernity (s) or multiple modernities, which implies addressing not only the very idea of research bases, but transversally modernity, in their rationality, method, and subsidiarily, look at history and events. As the spectrum is broad, we will limit ourselves to discuss assumptions that imply a deconstruction of the standard ways of analyzing life (and life histories) from critique of abstractions and the generic treatment given and derived from the concept of rationality proper to modernity.

With this issue we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the rst publication of the International Journal of Philosophical Studies, rst launched in March 1993. Our original plan was to produce two high-quality issues a year containing articles in all areas of philosophy, but aiming especially to contribute to the ongoing dialogue between analytic and Continental philosophy. Because of the overwhelming number and quality of submissions received, and the positive reaction of the readership, in 1997 the journal moved to three issues a year. Last year, 2001, the IJPS again expanded -this time to full quarterly publication.

This article presents the results of a study that, using biblio-graphical sources, documentary analysis and interviews, aimed to trace the history of the publishing house Alfa-Omega, and understand its remit and focus in the context of the complex Brazilian publishing industry. Founded in São Paulo in 1973 by Fernando and Claudete Mangarielo, Alfa-Omega is to this day "publishing Brazilian critical thought". In its first four years (1973 - 1976), it published forty-four books, sixteen of which were by academics from USP, at a time where the university environment was renowned for its opposition to the regime. The publisher currently (2014) has over 200 titles in its backlist. In the1990s, Alfa-Omega experienced a significant drop in sales, but over the past fourteen years, it has invested heavily in internet and digital resources as tools to help with book production and marketing. Its editorial guidelines have remained unchanged for the past 40 years. The article concludes by noting the difficulties faced by medium-sized left-wing publishers, and their importance in promoting and maintaining biblio-diversity. Keywords: Editora Alfa-Omega, Fernando and Claudete Mangarielo, publishing, books
