Workplace harassment affects women in every walk of life, in every level of employment. The purpose of this research paper is to elucidate the awareness among working women regarding sexual harassment law procedure provide to them in the constitution. Moreover, efforts to implement the guidelines are also limited. Mechanisms for redress do not always function impartially and a few women are effectively able to translate the guidelines to make the workplace safer and gender equitable. Only few women seek redress and few receive swift action; responses have included non-action and even victimization of the complainant women. Most of the women don't complain because they fear of being blamed for provoking the incident or the loss of their reputation. The results from this research, however indicate that in Govt. Org sexual harassment is still prevalent in the workplace despite attempts to eradicate it.
Women, a girl, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, overall girl could be a key of a family. World will never be complete without a girl. Law is the set of rules implemented to govern the behavior of individuals. From the start of this world women is treated as a weaker section of the society frequently are the victims of the crimes like rape, eve teasing, feminine infanticide, dowry, domestic violence, child marriage and acid throwing. India is facing the matter of accelerating range of cases of sexual harassment at the workplace despite the actual fact that there are various laws to curb the menace. Irrefutably, it hampers women’s constitutional and fundamental rights to equality, justice and dignity. The paper begins with shaping the idea of sexual harassment then looks into the assorted aspects allied to the current brutal issue. In addition to it, the issues with the measures taken are mentioned to clarify the status of sexual harassment in Indian context and the way organizations can facilitate in safeguarding the dignity of their women employees. The study indicates that the problem of sexual harassment at the workplace is at an appalling stage and needs an immediate attention by the organizations moreover from government. The work of activists, human rights mechanisms and States has been crucial in guaranteeing that the human rights framework has developed and adjusted to summarize the gender specific dimensions of human rights violations to safeguard women in a better approach. Further, few recommendations also are projected to tackle the problem of sexual harassment of women in Indian organizations
Sexual Harassment has become a part and partial of life for every woman, in today's era as most of the women step outside from their home every day either to earn for the survival of family or for carrier. Most of the women have also accepted it as part of their lives, as being women. Even if there are provisions of various Acts and defense mechanisms to protect women against sexual harassment, very little portion of women are aware of this. A country like India, where more than 60% of women work in informal sector, it creates more vulnerability for them. The paper shows that even in the case of the educated women, there seems very little awareness on various Acts and defense mechanisms related to sexual harassment. The study also highlights the importance of dissemination of information through some kind of intervention. At least in the short term perspective, the qualitative analysis reveals the change better than the quantitative analysis.

Researches have shown workplace Sexual Harassment (SH) as indeed a source of stress at workplaces. If he or she is a victim of SH, he or she is not the only one. Everyone has the rights to voice out, as we have our human rights. The purpose of this paper is to create an awareness of SH in workplaces due to its impact on each victim’s health, psychologically and physically. Most of the victims keep it as secret in order to avoid embarrassment. Yet, these embarrassments then lead to a higher percentage of workplace sexual harassment. This paper has reviewed a total of 25 journal articles, regarding the percentage of workplace SH victims, the society’s stance on it, the characteristics of victims, the criterion to judge Sexual Harassment, the influences of SH perceptions, the influences for the intention of SH intervention, the consequences of SH on victims and the effects of implementing training and policies. In some employers’ point of view, the contribution of training and policies to prevent workplace Sexual Harassment incidents are small. Yet, these small contributions on the other hand create a domino effect in long term view and are better than no action taken. Therefore, companies should implement training and policies as one of the strategies to protect employees from experiencing SH incidents as well as to uphold the company’s reputation.
By looking at the present scenario where gender based violence such as sexual harassment at workplace is spreading at a thrust all around in India. Women at the public sector are more prone to this violence because of the nature of their jobs which involves interaction with their colleagues. Women are brutally harassed by the torturous suppression of not only men but also by the whole society this not only lowers their performance rates but also affects their mental health. Sexual harassment of women in unorganized sector like brick Klein is a serious concern. The laws to protect the women cannot be effective unless they themselves are conscious of the laws, and acquire the strength to ensure that laws are brought into force. This study intends to explore the prevalence of sexual harassment against women workers at brick kilns and to what extent women are protected by ‘Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010. Findings of the research indicated that substantial integer of respondents experienced various forms of sexual harassment at brick kilns by boss and colleagues varying from staring, suggestive remarks, leering, touchy and demand for sexual favors. Noteworthy majority did not know if there is any law in the country which can protect them for such unwanted behaviors at work place.
The Indian constitution guarantees certain basic and fundamental human rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human rights, 1948 to its citizens and other persons. To protect the rights of the women and to give them equal status in the society, the framers of the Constitution of India granted some special rights to the women in the constitution in the form of both the Fundamental rights and Directive principles of state policies, which were directed towards the state. Sexual harassment in the workplace is a widespread and distressing issue that impacts people in all walks of life and all types of careers. Victims of sexual harassment often experience negative consequences such as decreased job satisfaction, increased stress, and a diminished sense of self-worth. Sexual Harassment at workplace is not only an evil against women but also an unconstitutional act against the females. It leads to the way of violence, torture and harassment. An effort has been made to emphasis on the significance and relevance of the Act made for the protection of women at their respective workplaces. This Act plays a major role in proactively ensuring the protection of all women who are working. This paper also analyse the role and responsibility of judiciary in playing the major role in the actual implementation of the concerned law.
cases of sexual harassment are often reported in print and electronic media. Though, harassment Acts and Laws have been introduced but still a vast majority is reluctant to share this issue with friends, colleagues and even families. Therefore this study is designed to explore the reporting behavior of working women towards sexual harassment and to highlight responsive style of families, friends, colleagues and higher authorities on reporting the issue. Respondents were approached through purposive sampling method and data was collected from only those females who experienced workplace harassment at any stage in life. Questionnaire was used as tool of data collection. Results of the study revealed that majority women do not discuss and report the event of sexual harassment. Those who discuss and report receive negative response of family as well as from higher authorities in offices. Results further ascertained the fact that no concrete action is taken against perpetrators and if someone reports it, they did not find any satisfactory response on it. Majority respondents showed dissatisfaction upon the action taken. The government needs to properly execute women protection bills and laws in true spirit in order to provide a workplace environment that is conducive to women.
