AI-generated Abstract
The document outlines a series of tasks and guidelines for a project focused on User-Centered Design (UCD) methods, emphasizing the need for extensive literature review, tool presentations, and academic writing. Key tasks include familiarizing oneself with the subject, preparing a presentation on design tools, reflective writing in a learning diary, and collaborative academic article writing. The work emphasizes the importance of selecting relevant sources and integrating feedback from instructors throughout the project.

In recent times, User-Centered Design which refers to a set of techniques that place consumers at the center of product development and design has been the go-to model of design for project teams. With the growth and ubiquity of digital devices, it is becoming increasingly challenging to design technologies, understand how they are utilized in real-world situations, assessing new systems to understand their true consequences without interaction with the users. It is imperative to understand our users, their routines, and their requirements to continuously design with these elements in mind. In this article, we explore some of the importance of usercentered design methods in the design process, some of the challenges faced while using this technique and output of design team projects, and some of the conceptions and notions. The purpose of this article is to inspire user centred designers to attain the goals of User-centered designs without blindly following its present techniques, believing that the means justify the objectives. Also, to respect users and their requirement, discover ways to make it a practical option during the design process, resulting in advantages for everyone. This article has been divided into sections for easy navigation.

Selected projects illustrate my interest to understand complex issues not only from the bigger perspective of system and networks but also to be able to zoom into individuals with experiences inside of the system, as service users or providers. My curiosity lies between these entire dimensions. Moreover, my interest is in developing methodologies and tools that are empowering human centricity. The digital aspect of services is only one of many that enable communication between channels towards different types of service users.
The usability of software will be extended, if developed by a User Centered Design approach. The drawbacks are not as obvious. This position paper describes a research plan for comparing the benefits and drawbacks of two software developing approaches, the traditional software development approach and a User Centered Design approach.
