Ontologie der Modalitäten im Tractatus

2000

Abstract

In this paper I examine the question of Wittgenstein's position on the ontological status of possibilities. I present and criticize a possibilist interpretation partly based Ray Bradley's reading and I also present and a criticise a more naturalistic interpretation inspired by David Armstrong's combinatorial theory of possibility. I then defend a non naturalist actualist interpretation of Wittgenstein's position based on a new understanding of the tractarian notion of a possible situation.
