Utility bill like electric, mobile bill etc. payment is becoming a routine work to us. This is the age of telecommunication. So, utility bill payment using telecom support will be a wonder work. This paper will show the various ways that we can use to pay our utility bills using telecom support. At the same time it will provide the reason behind this automation.
In this project an automatic meter reading system is designed using GSM Technology. The embedded micro controller is interfaced with the GSM Module. This setup is fitted in home. The energy meter is attached to the micro controller. This controller reads the data from the meter output and transfers that data to GSM Module through the serial port. The embedded micro controller has the knowledge of sending message to the system through the GSM module. Another system is placed in EB office, which is the authority office. When they send " unit request " to the microcontroller which is placed in home. Then the unit value is sent to the EB office PC through GSM module. According to the readings, the authority officer will send the information about the bill to the customer. If the customer doesn't pay bill on-time, the power supply to the corresponding home power unit is cut, by sending the command through to the microcontroller. Once the payment of bill is done the power supply is given to the customer. Power management concept is introduced, in which during the restriction mode only limited amount of power supply can be used by the customer.

The development of a automatic billing system is presented in this paper. Automatic billing system (ABS) consists of digital power meter with GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). Meter consists of a GSM modem which utilizes the GSM network to send its power usage reading using SMS (Short Message Service) in response to the energy provider’s query about meter reading. At the main server the VB software is used to manage all the received SMSs (meter readings), compute the billing cost, update the database, and to publish billing notification to its respective consumer through SMS or printed postage mailing. A working prototype of the ABS system was build to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of ABS, billing, and notification through the use of GSM network.
The technology of E-metering (Electronic Metering) has gone through rapid technological advancements and there is increased demand for a reliable and efficient Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system. the design of a simple low cost wireless GSM energy meter and its associated web interface, for automating billing and managing the collected data globally. The proposed system replaces traditional meter reading methods and enables remote access of existing energy meter by the energy provider. Also they can monitor the meter readings regularly without the person visiting each house. A GSM based wireless communication module is integrated with electronic energy meter of each entity to have remote access over the usage of electricity. A PC with a GSM receiver at the other end, which contains the database acts as the billing point. Live meter reading from the GSM enabled energy meter is sent back to this billing point periodically and these details are updated in a central database. A new interactive, user friendly graphical user interface is developed using Microsoft visual studio .NET framework and C#. With proper authentication, users can access the developed web page details from anywhere in the world. The complete monthly usage and due bill is messaged back to the customer after processing these data. This system also can be used to disconnect the power supply to the house in case of non-payment of electricity bills. A dedicated GSM modem with SIM card is required for each energy meter.
Traditional metering method for retrieving the energy data is not convenient and the cost of the data logging systems is high. So we designing and developing Automatic meter reading (AMR) system. AMR system give the information of meter reading, power cut, total load used, power disconnect .This information is being sent and received by concerned energy Provider i.e. MSEB with the help of Global system for mobile communication (GSM) network. Energy provider receives the meter reading within a second without visiting person. AMR minimize the number of traditional visits required by employs of energy Provider Company. This system not only reduces the labor cost but also increase meter reading accuracy and save hugs amount of time. The prime objective of the project is to design a digital energy meter using GSM and card reading technologies for collection, communication and integration of the data. The main objective of ours is to integrate the GSM module and the debit card reading console with the digital energy meter so that the electricity bill delivery and the same bill payment is made easier. In order to integrate the various parts together we must first properly understand the working of the different parts to be integrated together. A brief study is done on the components and the technology which we are going to use in our project.

The main aim of online bill payment is to develop an innovative window-based online bill payment application system where the customer can pay their bills. It totally minimizes time and is easy to use. Online payments can be made for various purposes with the development of digital technology. Application that provides the user with the ability to perform all the payment of bills and taxes sitting at his or her desk by using the utility bill payment system. Our application makes it easy for departments and offices like the bank, EB, telephone, property tax, and water tax to offer online bill payment to their customers, allowing them to pay their bills with our bill payment system. Customers can go to our website, login with their respective login IDs, and have immediate access to their accounts. It is convenient and user-friendly. It focuses on measuring the efficiency of the application while processing it on a mobile phone.

Electricity is one of the fundamental necessities of human beings, which is commonly used for domestic, industrial and agricultural purposes. There lots of problem in distribution and metering. The wireless meter promise fast and accurate billing system. The traditional electro-mechanical meters, still widely used today are prone to drift over temperature and time as a result of mechanical nature of the components in the meter. The problem worsens further in collecting the meter readings and generating the bill. In this paper, technique for Prepaid and postpaid scheme using SMS has been illustrated. GSM network is used for sending and receiving SMS. KEYWORD GSM Modem, Microcontroller, Server, and Wireless Meter.

The present paper deals with a model design through Unified Modeling Language (UML) for a mobile based electricity bill deposit system. Due to complex life style of people this model is proposed in the form of UML Class, Sequence and Use Case diagrams. For implementation of proposed model, a real case study of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Bill deposit System is considered. By the use of this model, one can display the status of deposited electricity bill on a hand held mobile device system.

Electricity is one of the basic requirements of human beings, which is widely used for domestic, industrial, commercial and agricultural purposes. There is great demand for electricity and it is increasing day by day, but now a day what happened actually the method for accessing the data from the energy meter and billing is not up to the mark as well as it is time consuming. It is also required a huge manpower to complete this process. Because of that to reduce this huge manpower as well as complications, we exists this system. Our system provides the electricity readings on an LCD screen as well as can SMS this reading and cost in rupees to the user. A GSM modem is also integrated along with the meter to send alerts to the particular consumer regarding their energy consumption. In case of failure of payment by a consumer the controller can disconnect the power supply of the consumer. A PC with a GSM receiver at the other end, which contains the database acts as the billing point. h...
