Abstract

starting from the assumption that the access to written texts is never ideologically or culturally neutral or innocent, this text focuses on the position of the literary canon in literary education, as well as on the institutionalised reading/interpretation of literary texts in the classroom. The main theoretical forces noticed here are the notions of habitus and "pedagogical work" as read from Pierre Bourdieu.
