The aim of this research is to identify the proportion of mothers having caesarean section without being monitored with partogram and those who are monitored with partogram in Hospitals in Kepulauan Riau. The study uses case control design. Based on preliminary study samples consisted of 94 mothers for each group. Bivariate analysis uses chi-square with p<0.05 and CI 95% and multivariate analysis uses logistic regression test to find out the significance of external variables of mothers’ age, parity and service provider and the prevalence of caesarean section. Mothers giving birth without being monitored using partogram had 2.62 times greater risk (OR=2.62, 95% Cl= 1.40-4.90) for caesarean section than those using partogram. Other variables affecting the prevalence of caesarean section were 1) primipara (OR=2.28; 95%Cl =1.22-4.32) and 2) service provider (OR=2.27, 95%Cl=1.22-4.21). This paper elaborates the definition, purposes, elements, types, and steps in making infographics as well as the tools to create one. This paper would help readers to create their own infographics using the tools available. Keywords: Info graphics, Data Visualization Abstrak Infografis merupakan visualisasi data, gagasan, informasi atau pengetahuan melalui bagan, grafis, jadwal dan lainnya agar data, gagasan, informasi atau pengetahuan dapat disajikan lebih dari sekedar teks dan memiliki dampak visual yang cukup kuat dan lebih menarik. Paper ini menguraikan pengertian, tujuan, elemen, jenis-jenis dan langkah-langkah dalam membuat infografis, serta contoh aplikasi/tools yang dapat dipergunakan untuk membuat infografis. dalam edisi keempat bukunya yang berjudul "Cartography Thematic Map Design" pada bagian kartogram mengatakan: "Erwin Raisz called cartograms 'diagrammatic maps'. Today they might be called cartograms, value-by-area maps, anamorphated images or simply spatial transformations. Whatever their name, cartograms are unique representations of geographical space. Examined more closely, the value-by-area mapping technique encodes the mapped data in a simple and efficient manner with no data generalization or loss of detail. Two forms, contiguous and non-contiguous, have become popular. Mapping requirements include the preservation of shape, orientation contiguity, and data that have suitable variation. Successful communication depends on how well the map reader recognizes the shapes of the internal enumeration units, the accuracy of estimating these areas, and effective legend design. Complex forms include the two-variable map. Cartogram construction may be by manual or computer means.
