Le Claubergianisme au XVIIe siècle [Anteprima]

2024, Les Études philosophiques

Abstract

Johannes Clauberg (1622-1665) was a prominent figure in the field of philosophy both during his lifetime and after his death, on a continuum that extends at least as far back as Christian Wolff. Even before his death, a not inconsiderable number of works on physics, logic and, primarily, metaphysics openly inspired by him began to spread. The man whom historiography today describes as a minor author was a leading figure in his time, who initiated a veritable philosophical current that bears his name. The aim of this work is to show that the most radical Claubergianism is above all that which arose and developed within the academic milieu in Zurich from the 1660s onwards and which belongs thematically to the history of ontology.
