Abstract

Fergana Valley is an ancient basin surrounded by mountains in Turkestan. Its history dates back to ancient times. From past to present, it has always preserved its feature of being an important place in terms of geopolitical, geocultural and geostrategic aspects. The valley, where the historical Silk and Spice roads intersect, has served as a cultural and economic bridge between Asia and Europe, has been the crossroads of science and civilization, and the center of politics. Today, the Fergana Valley is shared between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Important cities of the region; Kokand, Andijan, Margilan, Osh, Jalalabad, and Hocent. It is possible to include the Kashgar region of East Turkestan in this order. Fergana, one of the first centers of the ancient agricultural culture of the Turkish peoples, is also the name of a civilization. Fergana Valley, the land on which the Turks established a state, ruled the region, struggled with all kinds of obstacles, and produced, today hosts material and spiritual heritage. It has been important as the intellectual and thought center of Turkestan, where the tradition of science and wisdom is transferred from generation to generation, science, art, and traditional crafts are kept alive. The valley, which has an easy climate, is irrigated by the Seyhun River and small rivers flowing into it. Fergana Valley, with its geographical feature, economic convenience, fertile lands, underground resources, dense population, and ethnic diversity, is considered the ore of Turkestan.
