In our study, first of all, the thoughts of the valuable sociologists of the 19th century on "change" and the phenomenon of "social change" and the fact that this phenomenon continues at a dizzying pace in the 21st century are explained, and the importance and importance of the media in line with the new developments in technology and computers-machines. Globalization and Terrorism are two prominent terminology of modern world. In general globalization are considered as an economic phenomenon but it has political dimensions too. The relationship between globalization and terrorism are very complex. The concept of terrorism are undergoing with drastic changes under the influence of globalization. Globalization on the one hand works as the facilitator for terrorism while on the other hand it equips our security agencies with such technologies which are very helpful in checking the threat of terrorism. This paper is an attempt to understand the concept of globalisation with respect to terrorism. For example due to globalisation people are more free to move and settle from one country to another country. While shifting in new environment sometimes they feel difficulty in assimilating to new culture because these peoples have distinct set of ideas towards this new culture. Which becomes the cause of conflict between the new arrivals and the locals? In the same way globalization has amplified the effect of technology manifold which in turn helps security agencies in predicting and countering the terror act.

Maria Cristina Aboboaie's volume called Sociologia terorismului and published in 2014 at Lumen Publishing House aims to pave the way to such approach with sociological specificity, of the terrorism phenomenon itself, and also of the profound speech generated by the phenomenon of counter-terrorism. The sociological perspective on terrorism comes to complete the one of national security, that will outline a vision on the dynamic of the phenomenon, both in its extension and intension. Due to many acceptations that this phenomenon presents, the author of the volume requires a terminology clarification to explain the reader on the complex meanings of the terrorist phenomenon in the current world.
This book centers not only on the “scourge of terrorism”, a problem which concerns policy-makers, officials and governments worldwide, but dissects the reasons and effects it has on people’s daily lives. Focusing on 9/11 as the founding event, terrorism and the attention given by the media and news containing violence-related content paved the way for the rise of a new stage of capitalism. Authors invited to this project discuss with accuracy to what extent terrorism is changing day-to-day behaviours, social institutions and democracy. Basically, the rise and expansion of globalization, which crystalized into a more mobile world, alluded to a culture of instantaneity where news on terror produces a double-edge effect. On one hand, terrorist cells are prone to develop crueler and further violent tactics to perpetrate their attacks since the constant media coverage produces a process of desensitization in audiences. On another hand, the “war on terror” is discursively manipulated to impose some restrictive economic policies that would otherwise be neglected. Lastly, not only does terrorism seem to affect the tenets of democracy, but it also accelerates the rise of populist leaders in the decades to come. Since terrorism is subtly changing our lives, this book offers an all-encompassing model to expand the current understanding of students, scholars and policy makers in order to prioritize republicanism over “the concept of security”. In this vein, Latin America has much to say to shed light on how terrorism effaces democracy. In view of the American sentiment of exemplarity adjoined to the commoditization of death in capitalist societies, the discourse of fear may very well lead to pathological reactions that prevent “hospitality”, which was historically the touchstone of the Western world. The article refers to selected aspects of knowledge about terrorism and its typology. The introduction explains the etymology of this concept and highlights the problem of diversity in the definition of terrorism. The next part cites several definitions of terrorism, which, in the author’s opinion, reflect the essence of this phenomenon. The difference between terrorism and terror, which are two terms that should not be used interchangeably, is also explained. The next part of the article illustrates the source of the problem which makes it impossible to agree on a commonly accepted definition of terrorism by giving an example of the wording of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism. Then, the inherent feature of terrorism is explained, which is its asymmetry. The last part of the article concerns a typology of terrorism. It presents in a synthetic way various categories of terrorism, distinguished according to such criteria as: actors, motives, strategic (final) goals...

The relevance of the current topic is stipulated by the fact that terrorism is one of the most difficult and dangerous phenomena nowadays. Today terrorist attacks have become increasingly rampant, and some researchers even claim that the world is entering the era of terrorism. It stands to reason that terrorism is a global challenge of these days. Terrorism is the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
Terrorism and Literariness: The Terrorist Event in the 20th and 21st Centuries, 2015
One of the main objectives of this study is the investigation of the affinity between literary/philosophical thought and the concept of terrorism. This phenomenon of extreme asymmetric violence will be studied both, through philosophy/literature and as (a form of) literature and philosophy, to the extent that literary thinking, what I more broadly call “literariness,” already lurks in the discourse, representation, as well as the very practice of terrorism. For instance, symbolism, theatrical display and rhetorical skills admittedly permeate the terrorist mindset. In this light, special attention will be paid also to the interrelatedness between aesthetics and terror or terrorism as the latter developed from the late nineteenth-century onwards. By the term “aesthetics,” this study does not mean “beauty” but rather focused perceptual or artistic sensibility. The perceptual or aesthetic, in the sense of “feeling,” is crucial for understanding and accurately representing terrorism, whereas journalistic language and reasoned political and sociological discourse, due to their lack of faith in the power of imagination, cannot fully grasp the immensity, terrible immediacy, radical symbolism and “literariness” of a terrorist act.

Romanian Military Thinking, 2009
The author approaches the issue of terrorism, contrasting the “old” with the “new” one. Firstly, the different meanings attached to terrorism throughout history are discussed. The aim is not to add a new definition but to offer a proper context for the concept of “new terrorism” to be better understood. Secondly, the characteristics of the “new terrorism” are listed. Thus, the “new terrorism” is described as being global and amorphous, its perpetrators having wide-ranging motivation. In addition, it results in numerous and innocent victims, as the attacks are more and more lethal. Moreover, the diverse support systems act like force multipliers. Thirdly, different means of countering the “new terrorism” are mentioned. Having in view its complex nature, a “new” set of counter-terrorist policies is required. Appropriate methods should be used to prevent as well as to deter terrorists. In addition, a multilateral approach is imperative. In conclusion, the author states that it is necessary for the fight against terrorism to be compatible with fundamental freedoms and human rights.
Studia Politologiczne, 2022
The article discusses main evolutionary trends in terrorism after 9/11. Analysing the phenomenon globally and with reference to the concept of so called "new terrorism", the articles points out the continuation of majority of trends in terrorism' evolution from the past, particularly on motivational and organizational level. The study stresses, however, significant quantitative growth in terrorist acts and changes in their geographical distributions. In addition, the article analyses reasons why the risks of super-and cyberterrorism did not materialized fully in last decades.
