Purpose: Today's competitive environment makes it necessary for enterprises that are engaged in production to proceed not only in the higher quality of service enterprises but also requires effective and efficient operation. It is very important to manage and guide individuals who show different responses in the face of different events in the same direction. At this point, it is very important to emphasize the importance of ethical codes as helpers for organizations. In this context, this research aims to explore the relationship between demographic variables and the health care workers' guilt and shame scores. Method: In this study, the work experiences of hospital staff were examined in terms of sex, guilt and shame. Analyses were evaluated in SPSS 11.5. According to the research results there is no significant relation between age, gender and marital status associated with guilt and shame. However, the survey tasks show that there is significant relationship between individuals' guilt and shame scores. Another result of the study is that as the guilt increases, the score for shame decreases. Differences in demographic characteristics in business have created a sense of guilt and shame in reducing the impact of perceptions of organizational ethical codes is of paramount importance. Ethical codes are effective tools to disseminate format standards to all employees in an understandable way. Conclusion: As a result, in an organization usage of effective ethical codes provide resistance to unethical or illegal actions to take place by applying pressure to employees.

Konferenserna vill vara motorer i utvecklingen av nordisk polisforskning och arenor där forskning möter praktiker och polisutbildning. Kapitlen i denna antologi kommer av presentationer som gjordes under 2010 års konferens.

The ethical values and behaviors are not only abstract terms, but they are refined and conceptualized by real life experiences. The societal context where the actions of humans can be analyzed by ethical decision-making is entirely relevant to deliberate on what is the right thing to do, and what the moral agent should do, since the ethical values and principles response to the actual practices of life and to the needs of humans in the society. This elaboration takes us to the realm of social ethics. This article reviews the definition and contextual meaning of social ethics at a broader level by giving special emphasis to the ethical theories and principles, focusing on the societal and public setting. Ethics will be deliberated with social and community aspects. Based on the principle of justice and public health ethics, the concept of social ethics has been investigated concisely through the relationship between man, as a moral person, and the society in exemplification of the issues of healthcare ethics. It is argued that the tension between individualism and communitarian needs can be reconciled with the perspective of social ethics by respecting the individual autonomy without disregarding the common good and social justice. By promoting the values of social responsibility, solidarity, social utility, social ethics has been proposed as the basis of a rational, moral, egalitarian, pluralistic, democratic society rising on the pillars of human rights and human dignity. The National Network for Social Anthropology has dealt with issues, such as, student mobility, admission to master´s courses and information, courses at advanced level and a joint course for ph.d. students. The network has met at five different occasions to discuss these issues. Participating instutions has been Falun, Göteborg, Lund x 2, Stockholm, and Uppsala x 2. The network have produced two concrete results: 1. A national overview of courses in social anthropology at advanced level, and 2. Plans for a national joint ph.d. course. The network will continue to meet also after the end of this project

Objective: to analyze the moral suffering frequency and intensity experienced by nursing staff. Methodology: a survey study with 95 professionals working in the inpatient and attendance sector in a teaching hospital in Paraná/PR. A form with socio demographic and labor questions, and a rating scale of frequency and intensity of moral suffering was applied. Results: the situations that cause higher MS frequency are due to inadequate working conditions of professionals in the institution (1,5 points), while the highest intensity construct was related to the staff lack of competence to work (2,15 points). Conclusion: the hospital nursing technicians coexist in a pleasant way to the situations causing moral suffering in their daily lives, and recognize the factors causing them greater MS during their operations. Método: estudo do tipo survey com 95 profissionais atuantes nos setores de internação e atendimento de um hospital de ensino no Paraná/PR. Foi aplicado um formulário com questões sociodemográficas e laborais e uma escala de avaliação da frequência e intensidade do sofrimento moral. Resultados: as situações que provocam maior frequência de SM se devem às condições de trabalho insuficientes dos profissionais na instituição (1,5 pontos), enquanto o constructo de maior intensidade foi relacionado à falta de competência da equipe para o trabalho com 2,15 pontos. Conclusão: os técnicos de enfermagem do hospital convivem de maneira amena com as situações causadoras de sofrimento moral em seu cotidiano, e reconhecem os fatores que lhes causam maior SM no decorrer de sua atuação. RESUMEN Objetivo: analizar la frecuencia y la intensidad de la angustia moral vivida por los técnicos de enfermería. Metodología: estudio de tipo survey con 95 profesionales que trabajan en el sector de ingreso y servicio de un hospital escuela en Paraná/PR. Se aplicó un formulario con cuestiones socio demográficas y laborales y una escala de evaluación de frecuencia y intensidad de la angustia moral. Resultados: Situaciones que provocan una mayor frecuencia de AM es debido a las condiciones de trabajo inadecuadas de los profesionales de la institución (1,5 puntos), mientras que la más alta intensidad de construcción se relaciona con la falta de competencia del equipo para el trabajo (2,15 puntos).Conclusión: Los técnicos de enfermería del hospital coexisten en una manera agradable con las situaciones que causan angustia moral en su vida diaria, y reconocer los factores que los causan mayor AM durante sus operaciones.
