Abstract de comunicación “La gran propaganda iconográfica. Imágenes bélicas en la prensa asturiana (1930-1940)”, p.41.

Del 14 al 18 de julio de 2004 tuvo lugar en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, bajo el patrocinio del Plan Xacobeo de la Xunta de Galicia, el III Congreso Internacional Historia a Debate, cuyas actas tenemos el gusto de presentar hoy1[1] editadas, como viene siendo habitual, en tres volúmenes: "Reconstrucción" (tomo I), "Historiografía inmediata" (tomo II) e "Historiografía global" (tomo III). Libros que actualizan, al tiempo que complementan, los nueves tomos anteriores2[2], producto de los macro congresos celebrados durante los años jubilares compostelanos de 1993 y 1999. Doce volúmenes que resumen (en español, portugués, inglés y francés) los balances, discusiones e innovaciones habidos en la escritura de la historia en años cruciales de transición del siglo XX al siglo XXI. Puesta al día del oficio de historiador que no tiene parangón internacionalmente, constituyendo una referencia bibliográfica imprescindible, dentro y fuera del ámbito académico latino, para saber adónde va la historia en este nuevo siglo: sea para preparar un proyecto docente en concursos a plazas de profesores universitarios de historia; impartir docencia actualizada sobre metodología, historiografía y teoría de la historia; o, simplemente, remozar individualmente enfoques y temas de la investigación histórica. Nos dirigimos con esta publicación colectiva por tanto, una vez más, a los colegas que, independientemente de su edad y estatus académico, piensan como nosotros que ser "buen historiador" va más allá del uso de las fuentes: exige innovación, reflexión y conexión con el tiempo acelerado que vivimos, también historiográficamente. Actualización necesaria que hemos tratado de implementar, desde 1993, mediante grandes congresos cada cinco o seis años, y continuamente, desde 1999, a través de una red temática3[3] en Internet (página web y listas de correo electrónico) que conecta diariamente a más de 8.000 historiadores y profesores de historia de universidades de los cinco continentes, alrededor de debates historiográficos y cuestiones de actualidad de interés histórico. Combinación de formas viejas y nuevas de sociabilidad académica para una disciplina de larga tradición que quiere, y precisa, adaptarse a la globalización con la intención de aportar al tiempo nuevo la humanización, profundidad y perspectiva de la historia investigada y enseñada.

This paper aims to show patterns and trends of Enrique Granados’s pianistic tradition as reflected in the recordings of eminent female pianists and heiresses of his legacy, as well as their evolution through the century, and their divergence from current performing trends. This research also focuses on the pedagogical philosophy, creative works, and music performances of Granados' female students, with the aim of reviving the memory of those who are still unjustly forgotten. The investigation considers an approach from the point of view of the gender disparities and social inequities in Catalan musical circles. It also develop an analysis on the difficulties that women pianists faced when challenging social conventions, and the social status, family responsibilities, and professional influences that have shaped the artistic careers and practices of professional women pianists throughout their lives. The research utilizes sound recordings as the key to addressing the discrepancy in performance practices, given that they demonstrate marked stylistic differences that are eye-opening in revealing the high level of artistic input. Based on this, the study aims to explore both common and unique circumstances and choices that these women have faced during their artistic careers, past and present, and examine the important role that music has played in their lives as artists and women. This is how the research will provide new insights into Granados's pianistic tradition, pedagogy, and the significant contributions of his female students to piano education and international prominence. Furthermore, the study hopes to stimulate future generations of students' musical, artistic, and cultural development by increasing awareness of some of the most significant works written by these women, given the significant absence of female authors among those proposed for study and interpretation in specialized institutions and conservatories. This research contributes to a better understanding of music performance practices, the role of women in music education, and the impact of gender disparities and social inequities in Catalan musical circles at the turn of the 20th-century.

This paper presents the mechanical and numerical development to create a user-defined material subroutine (UMAT) of incompressible isotropic hyperelastic materials for the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. The formulation is made within the framework of nonlinear continuum mechanics and a classical approach of strain invariants is used to express the strain energy function, The Cauchy stress tensor and the consistent tangent tensor are explicitly presented because both tensors have to be coded into the material subroutine. The performance of the subroutine was verified with three models recently reported in the literature and created for the modeling of: a biodegradable polymer, brain tissue and for the cruciate ligament, These models are not in the ABAQUS library so a subroutine is needed to implement them. Simulations for the uniaxial tension case and simple shear were done, and errors of less than 1% were obtained in all cases with respect to the expected analytical values...

The convent life of cloistered nuns in Portugal during the 17th and 18th centuries presents appealing material for satire. It creates a new farcical character: the nun's beau. The entremeses (short farces)-the theatrical genre most suitable for satire-that depict the relations between the characters do not strictly follow the rules set for the genre, but rather establish new categories as the entremés de monja (nuns' farce), not to be found elsewhere in the Spanish tradition. This paper studies the representation of the transgressive behaviours of the supposedly rigorous canonical models in a relevant set of plays, unique in the history of Iberian theater which were banned by Portuguese censorship boards.
