«Le parole non c'erano, le avevamo consumate tutte nell'attesa e non ne usavamo che poche: come stai, come va oggi, hai mangiato, hai la febbre. Balbettavamo un lessico scarnificato, svogliati e afasici come tutti coloro che si muovono nell'inenarrabile». "In principio era il Verbo", così inizia il Vangelo di Giovanni e così, almeno idealmente, potremmo dire che prende avvio l'ultimo romanzo di Loredana Lipperini, La notte si avvicina (Bompiani, 2020), non solo e non tanto perché la citazione sulle parole arriva già a pagina 23, ma perché sul peso di parole specifiche-come "equilibrio", "segno", "inizio", "peste", "donna", "colpevole/i"-si regge l'intera struttura narrativa, contenutistica e non. La materia del romanzo è scopertamente dichiarata, qui il problema è la peste, un'epidemia che torna dopo secoli, nuova e sempre uguale, ancestrale e insidiosa proprio perché già nota nel suo obiettivo finale: distruggere per poi purificare. E laddove arriva la peste si spengono anche le parole, quelle superflue, quelle che galleggiano per poi affondare, quelle che non hanno una soluzione perché sono fatte di pura inconsistenza: restano quindi tutte le altre, poche, una manciata di fili tesi ad agitare i burattini nell'antro scuro, nel sotterraneo del vissuto umano; a salvarsi, insomma, sono quelle parole che delineano la geografia lessicale della morte. Sono le parole che Loredana Lipperini trasforma in fatti. Come se ogni sillaba, finanche la singola lettera, provenissero non dalla bocca ma dalle mani di chi le pronuncia: il "detto" diviene "fatto" e le pagine pesano come corpi morti. «Ti domandi mai come comincia la peste? Ti domandi se esiste una sola colpa? Perché questo è stato sempre raccontato: c'è un colpevole, uno e uno solo, e quell'uno racchiude tutto il male del mondo». Partiamo dunque da queste parole: "colpa", "uno" e "male". Il senso della peste di cui il romanzo si fa tra le altre cose portavoce è racchiuso in questi pochi termini-che ricorrono come elementi chiave e di libera interpretazione a seconda del contesto e della collocazione specifica-, perché

The medieval origins of the idea of "Holy Russia". The commemoration of the Battle of Kulikovo (1380) in the Narration of the Battle with Mamai The Narration of the Battle with Mamai (Skazanie o Mamaevom poboišče), dedicated to the famous Russian military victory over the Tatars on the Kulikovo Field (1380), is generally considered the central work of the Kulikovo cycle. The anonymous author develops a consistent reinterpretation of the historical event in a liturgical and commemorative key by constantly adopting forms of prayer and of hagiographic narrative. The analysis of the numerous biblical quotations that weave the plot introduces the deeper meaning of Narration: the final incorporation of the Hellenistic-Christian chronotope in the Slavic "Orthodox Christianity" in which Moscow and "Russian land" have become central.The medieval origins of the idea of "Holy Russia". It's just a limited view of what happened a couple of centuries before Moscow could boast its dignity of capital city. I tried to depict the circumstances and the events and the people who might have been grumbling upon creating a new absolutistic state in the Russian Plain even before the Tatars invaded the region.

This is actually a preview of my latest work whichi is on its pathway at the Publisher's to be published. It is the long "ripening" of an idea within the Dolgorukiis family to establish a new polity in the Northeast of present Russia against the confusion that had the sway in the XII cent. in Kiev. Probably this was a personal reaction of Vlaimidir Monomach whose proposals to smother the fire of ambition were not accepted and his son YURI DOLGORUKII, in Italian GIORGIO LUNGAMANO, started to this of his quasi complete independence from Kiev's politics.
