The use of modern information technologies in transport logistics makes it possible to reduce the cost of cargo delivery and optimize the time of their transportation. Reducing inventory to the most optimal level and delivering goods exactly at a certain time is very much in demand for a modern dynamic economy. One of the most important tasks of the logistics chain is to coordinate the actions of all its participants. This is facilitated by the standardization of documents necessary for the transportation of goods, the establishment of direct contractual relations between all participants in the logistics chain, as well as the possibility of a single order for all services provided by all participants in the logistics chain. Effective development of transport logistics requires a systematic approach to solving emerging practical problems. The formation of transport and logistics clusters and the creation of multimodal transport and logic centers contributes to the development of the transport and logic sector. The transport system shows its maximum efficiency not only in the presence of modern transport infrastructure, but it also requires the presence of free competition in the market of transport and logistics services. The state policy in the field of regulation of the market of transport and logistics services should be aimed at their rationalization and reduction of costs correlated with them.

This article discusses the development of the transport and logistics policy of the state and the development of logistics in general. Despite the fact that the state is making every effort to develop this area, there are a lot of unresolved problems. Kazakhstan is a transit state, but you should not limit yourself to this direction and consider not only mega projects, but also «real» investments. The economy of any state depends on the «circulatory system», which is transport logistics. Drastic changes in supply chain management are needed, specialists and personnel are needed, it is necessary to increase the level of development of transport science and education. In the state transport programs, it is necessary to create conditions for the development of export-import transportation, reducing transport costs, increasing efficiency and improving the quality of intra-republican logistics. In the article, the authors share their vision of improving the indicators of the LPI logistic...

In the widest sense, networks provide, in the safest and easiest way, through the equipment and related facilities, connections between the different components of the transport system. The analysis of networks should take into account both their division according to geographic layout and their functions, but also taking into consideration three basic criteria: transport, control and management. Thus, it can be easily stated that networks represent basic elements of our society, which allow the study and optimization of some key issues for modern society. In a transport network, interactions between modes of transport are recorded in terminals or junction points. It should be noted that in transport modes, the heterogeneous components of the transport infrastructure interact with the flow of traffic entities. Thus, in order to determine the optimal correlation between the resources and technologies of transport modes at terminals, it is necessary to analyse multiple variants. The differences between the loading capacities of means of transport and the impossibility of achieving perfect coordination between the different transportation modes of junction points determine additional stops. Terminal transhipment is often inevitable. Taking into consideration the importance of traffic flow in the network as well as the relations developed in the logistics network, in this paper we will analyse the transport systems with two transhipments specific to two intermodal routes (Shanghai-Koper-Budapest and Shanghai-Constanta-Budapest) of the Shanghai-Budapest transport network.

This paper aims to establish a compilation of the solutions or initiatives that can be implemented by local administrations in order to improve freight deliveries in urban environments. These improvements are not defined from the point of view of logistic companies, but from the point of view of urban communities and the relation between freight transport and general urban traffic. All the solutions considered here are generic, that is, suitable a priori for any given urban area, although their degree of appropriateness and expected results will depend on the specific characteristics of the city. Solutions are classified into those related to public infrastructure, land use management, access conditions, traffic management, enforcement and promotion.

To alleviate traffic congestion that results from the growth of e-commerce we propose an approach in the city of Linz, Austria by relying on shared distribution centers from different companies. We develop two algorithms to find out the optimal location for the hubs and calculate the shortest path between locations. Results showed that in an urban environment, the implementation of hubs results in a reduction of the number of delivery vehicles. It reduces driving distances from hub to the customers, and also benefits the drivers that need to return home every day.

The purpose of this paper is to present intermodal transport as a part of the companies' supply chain in which rail transport is not a necessity but a value added element. The European Commission stated in its current "White Paper" as follows: "Railway is sometimes seen, particularly as far as freight transport is concerned, as an unattractive means of transport. However, certain examples of some Member States have shown that railway can offer high quality transport services". In fact, rail freight transport has undergone a large transformation in recent years. A growing number of shippers and forwarders have discovered rail transport as an economically viable and environmentally friendly alternative to road transport for the movement of cargoes.

From urban freight transportation to city logistics Before the 80’s, the urban traffic due to freight transportation did not had an important impact to road congestion and air pollution in urban areas. Moreover, public authorities ’ actions in urban freight transportation policy and planning were limited to specific measures to deal with emergencies. With urban traffic increasing, and the raise of congestion not only in big but also in medium cities, some public administrations were confronted with the problem of urban freight distribution, that was managed traditionally only by the transportation carriers. In the 90’s and the beginning of the 21 th century, with the contribution of public administrations and other support funds, several studies and pilot tests have been made to learn how to organise urban freight distribution in order to decrease traffic and pollution derived from this sector. Most of these studies are oriented to support public authorities in decisions related to ...

Holland and Japan, like other countries, are confronted with a growing need for freight transport. Although multimodal transportation modes will gain more market share in the future, the scenarios for the next decades still predict a continuous growth of truck transport. Therefore, reducing congestion problems and their negative environmental impacts seems to be an important goal for the local governments of both countries. Next to these reductions, improving the quality of the living environment is also a common goal for the governments in the field of City Logistics. Various policy measures are taken by the local authorities to satisfy some of these goals. With the 'Shared Trucking programme' the Japanese government is directly interfering in the use of co-operative freight transport systems. Also the Dutch government is interfering with the raising of public centres, the City Distribution Centres, set up according to the long-term program for traffic and transport in the ...
