Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has deeply altered the way social relations and public spaces are experienced, and the living habits in urban areas. More people for instance, facilitated by the diffusion of smart working, have chosen to move far from the city centre in search of contact with nature. As a result, the processes leading to the anthropic “aggression” of some small centres and parts of metropolitan areas have been reinforced. With the support of two case studies from the metropolitan area of Rome, some strategies are suggested for the management of assailed places and the enhancement of their natural and cultural potential.
