COVID-19 pandemic impact is still ongoing across most life aspects in the world, with various level from country to country. However, the economic impacts (i.e., actual losses and lost profits) on the business sectors such as transportation, tourism and entertainment have been the worst one. Further, the higher education sector, including universities and higher education institutions, was not safe from this impact, as many universities around the world have either postponed or suspended all their activities, including study, academic and research activities. This, obviously, has affected their academic performance. However, high ranked universities have managed to face the challenges of the pandemic by developing innovative ways and solutions to continue academic and research activity, such as e-learning, virtual conferences and working online. However, such solutions, especially in the developing countries, require not only well-established infrastructure and an appropriate level of technology, but also knowledgeable, skillful and motivated faculty members to implement. In this context, most Libyan universities have not reacted seriously to the crisis' impact unfortunately, as all what they carried out is suspending the education process and academic activities.
