We held the third meeting at the 19th Annual Conference of JSAI in the series of near-future challenge of Establishing Case-Based Design Support and Assessment Framework. In this Research Notes, following the presentations and discussions made at the meeting, we investigate how we bridge the gap between our design support technology and the contributions to public. We first discuss design support technology for contributing to society development in general, and, then, apply a brief case study to a picture generation system, regarding community support as a contribution to society development. Finally, we briefly mention future work and present "call for participants" for our next session in 2006.

In this paper, we present "The Bush Telegraph", a system that explores possibilities for visualization of expert's making music skills through the use of augmented reality techniques. It is intended to make expert's tips and skills more quickly understandable, easier to imitate, and immediately applicable to one's own creative music making. To use the system, a user places cards on a table. The system interprets the cards' positions as notes in a musical pattern. By making musical structures visible, audible and tangible, the user is able to more quickly understand the musical results of their actions, and what they might do next. In a workshop on making "techno" dance music, all users were able to quickly imitate an expert's tips and skills, and then make their own musical patterns based on this knowledge. These results strongly suggest a role for this system in creative music making and learning.
