It has long been difficult to create a safe electronic voting system that provides the transparency and flexibility provided by electronic systems, while maintaining the fairness and privacy of present voting methods. Voting, especially during elections, is a technique where participants do not trust one another since the system might be attacked not just by an outsider but also by participants themselves (voters and organizers). The traditional methods of voting systems find it challenging to maintain the characteristics of an ideal voting system since there is a chance of tampering with results and disturbing the process itself. As a result, the effectiveness of the voting system is increased by translating the characteristics of an ideal voting system into digital space. It greatly lowers the expense of the elections and the work of the inspectors. In this essay, we'll use the open-source Blockchain technology to suggest a new electronic voting system's architecture. New chances to create new kinds of digital services are being provided by Blockchain. Numerous elements of our life have been altered by Blockchain technology, including the ability to save digital transactions via the Internet, confirm their legitimacy, license them, and provide the greatest level of security and encryption. This system offers a distributed architecture for storing the data, which distributes the data among many servers. In addition to maintaining voter identity outside of the vote count, this technology makes the voting process transparent.

The voting system is the medium of selecting the appropriate person for any type of election. In the traditional voting system, ballot paper was used to collect the vote from the voters. The voters have to go to the Centre to give their votes and many people are required to work as voting agents in the Centre to organize and manage the election. So, the traditional voting system required many types of costs to organize an election. Many other problems were raised in the traditional voting system like hijacking the voting machine, giving the vote of another person, manipulating voting data, etc. Many of these problems are solved by using EVM (Electronic Voting Machine). But the voters have to go to the voting center to provide their votes but the old-aged voters or the voters who are unable to walk are not able to provide their voted in this system. This problem can be solved by implementing a secure electronic or online based voting system. The Blockchain is a very popular technology now for storing data securely. The simple model of implementing a secure online based voting system by using blockchain technology has been shown in this paper which will be able to provide many facilities for all types of voters making the voting system more secure and faster.

Online voting is a trend that is gaining momentum in modern society. It has great potential to decrease organizational costs and increase voter turnout. It eliminates the need to print ballot papers or open polling stations— voters can vote from wherever there is an Internet connection. Despite these benefits, online voting solutions are viewed with a great deal of caution because they introduce new threats. A single vulnerability can lead to large- scale manipulations of votes. Electronic voting systems must be legitimate, accurate, safe, and convenient when used for elections. Nonetheless, adoption may be limited by potential problems associated with electronic voting systems. Blockchain technology came into the ground to overcome these issues and offers decentralized nodes for electronic voting and is used to produce electronic voting systems mainly because of their end-to-end verification advantages. On the other hand, the most often mentioned issues in blockchain applications are privacy protection and transaction speed. For a sustainable blockchain- based electronic voting system, the security of remote participation must be viable, and for scalability, transaction speed must be addressed. Due to these concerns, it was determined that the existing frameworks need to be improved to be utilized in voting system.

A system with a porous electoral process will produce the wrong leadership. The quality of an election determines the quality of the selected leadership of a community, state, and nation at large. Over the years, different solutions ranging from the manual method to electronic methods have been proposed to address the various electoral malpractices associated with elections, however, the key issues of privacy, trust, and fairness in elections yet remain. In this research, we proposed an electronic voting system based on blockchain technology to address the identified issues of privacy, trust, and fairness. Smart contracts which kept track of votes in real-time and maintained the security of the electoral process were also proposed. The system was implemented on the Ethereum blockchain network, where Ganache was used to perform simulations of the voting process. We finally recommended that small-scale and medium-scale businesses could firstly adopt the system, after which, it could be implemented on a larger scale such as in national elections.

In today’s digital environment, the voting system has moved from paper based to a digital system. A digital e-voting system has many properties such as transparency, decentralization, irreversibility, and non-repudiation. The growth in the digital e-voting system raises many security and transparency issues. In this paper, we used the blockchain technology in the digital electronic voting system to solve the security issues and ful?ll the system requirements. It offers new opportunities to deploy a secure e-voting system in any organization or country. The solution is far better as compared to other solutions because it is a decentralized system, containing the results in the form of bit-coins, having different locations. We will also analyze the security of our proposed voting system, which shows our protocol is more secure as compared to other solutions. The paper proposes a novel electronic voting system based on block chain that addresses some of the limitations in existing systems and evaluates some of the popular blockchain frameworks for the purpose of constructing a blockchain based e-voting system. In particular, we evaluate the potential of distributed ledger technologies through the description of a case study namely, the process of an election, and the implementation of a blockchain based application, which improves the security and decreases the cost of hosting a nation wide election.

Blockchain is cutting-edge technology and it has been gaining popularity for cryptocurrency and financial transactions. The transaction process is maintained by the blockchain, which can be used to verify the reliability of the transactional contract. The main effort in this study is the significant accessibility of block-chain based on other technologies including the electronic voting (e-voting) system. In particular, the traditional e-voting system has various limitations and challenges for a very long time. For building a secure e-voting system we have proposed a blockchain-based distributed application that offers fairness, transparency, and flexibility than the existing system. The paper presents a novel secured distributed database of the voter’s information, and voter information will be deposited against their private key and digital signature in the central database. Finally, the block-chain based application allows solid robustness, privacy, and transparency which improves the system reliability, secure and reductions the expenditure of hosting a countrywide election.

It's time to upgrade voting system using blockchain technology. Earlier people were able to trust each other upon a handshake but today it's extremely difficult to trust the digital world. It requires to authenticate identity and proving permission. With blockchain technology these two requirements are fulfilled. Blockchain is not an application nor a company. It is a solution for corruption. Democratic voting is critical and serious event in our country. By making use of blockchain which is a secure and robust system for digital voting can be devised. Traditional voting system uses centralized system, and there is one organization that manages it. It is possible to alter the database but by adopting blockchain technology which is a decentralized system we can prevent tampering and manipulation. Our proposed system achieves end-to-end verifiability using consensus algorithm. We present our efforts to explore use of blockchain technology to seek solutions to problems in traditional voting system. Blockchain technology has positive impacts on our social life. This system will help increase the number of voters as well as the trust of people in their government.

The aspect of electoral fraud and lack of transparency in the conventional voting system employed in India is a major problem that requires attention. The objective is to implement a secure e-voting system based on blockchain technology that counteracts the above-mentioned issues. The aim is to fight electoral malpractices by developing a system which will keep data secure in digital voting and prevent tampering of data while introducing a level of transparency in the system. One might argue that online voting is susceptible to database manipulation, however the adoption of blockchain technology solves this by its inherent property of decentralization wherein data is not stored in a central database, rather distributed over a vast network of peered systems. Electoral fraud in the form of voter impersonation and voting multiple times can be solved by the use of biometric voter authentication which has been implemented in the prototype of an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). This paper discusses the design and implementation of the system proposed.

The Secure Electronic Voting System using Blockchain Technology is ensured to make the current voting process to take place in an honest, accurate and highly secure way. This system stores the details of the voters and votes in two separate blockchains, which provides transparency into election results by allowing voters to independently audit the ballot box while protecting each voter's right to privacy. All the details of the voters get stored into one Blockchain, and this guarantees greater security by providing a PIN confirmed before the vote is taken into consideration. By casting votes as transactions, we can create another blockchain which keeps track of the tallies of the votes. This way, everyone can count the votes themselves, they can verify that no votes were changed or removed, and no illegitimate votes were added and as a result, is made public everyone can agree upon the final count. This system is only taking the current process of voting in an election and bringing that process entirely online, in an attempt to make it highly secure and also more accessible by allowing the voter to vote at his/her location and also reducing the effort put by staff members.
In recent times, numerous accusations have been raised on the integrity of the EVMs used in the Indian elections. These accusations demand the need of a newer system that is in line with the present modern era and addresses these accusations. This new system must be an amalgamation of technology and trust, of modernity and tradition. It must be secure, auditable, and transparent and should reinforce the confidence of the voters in the democratic election process. Blockchain technology allows for development of a decentralized distributed open ledger. It offers features like immutability of data, integrity of data and resistance of data to modifications. We aim to use these features of Blockchain to build a voting machine that will solve existing issues with EVMs and will be sufficiently automated.

A widespread mistrust towards the traditional voting system has made democratic voting in any country very critical. People have seen their fundamental rights being violated. Other digital voting systems have been challenged due to a lack of transparency. Most voting systems are not transparent enough; this makes it very difficult for the government to gain voters' trust. The reason behind the failure of the traditional and current digital voting system is that it can be easily exploited. The primary objective is to resolve problems of the traditional and digital voting system, which include any kind of mishap or injustice during the process of voting. Blockchain technology can be used in the voting system to have a fair election and reduce injustice. The physical voting systems have many flaws in it as well as the digital voting systems are not perfect enough to be implemented on large scale. This appraises the need for a solution to secure the democratic rights of the people. This article presents a platform based on modern technology blockchain that provides maximum transparency and reliability of the system to build a trustful relationship between voters and election authorities. The proposed platform provides a framework that can be implemented to conduct voting activity digitally through blockchain without involving any physical polling stations. Our proposed framework supports a scalable blockchain, by using flexible consensus algorithms. The Chain Security Algorithm applied in the voting system makes the voting transaction more secure. Smart contracts provide a secure connection between the user and the network while executing a transaction in the chain. The security of the blockchain based voting system has also been discussed. Additionally, encryption of transactions using cryptographic hash and prevention of attack 51% on the blockchain has also been elaborated. Furthermore, the methodology for carrying out blockchain transactions during the process of voting has been elaborated using Blockchain Finally, the performance evaluation of the proposed system shows that the system can be implemented in a large-scale population.

India is the world's biggest democracy with a populace of greater than 1 billion; India has an voters of extra than 668 million and covers 543 parliamentary constituencies. Voting is the bridge between the ruled and government. The final few years have introduced a renewed center of attention on to the science used in the vote casting process. The modern vote casting gadget has many protection holes, and it is tough to show even easy protection residences about them. A balloting machine that can be confirmed right has many concerns. There are some motives for a authorities to use digital structures are to expand elections things to do and to limit the elections expenses. Still there is some scope of work in digital balloting device due to the fact there is no way of identification by means of the digital balloting device whether or not the person is real or now not and securing digital vote casting desktop from miscreants. The proposed device is to increase a like minded balloting computing device with excessive safety via the usage of Block-chain science in order to expand safety and transparency between the customers.

Voting is an essential tool for any democratic government. It is the most important factor that makes the government for the people, by the people. It is surprising that many countries in the world haven't moved on from traditional paper ballot system of voting. There are some countries that have taken a forward step by using Electronic voting machines. As simple as it may sound, there are a lot of issues with these systems. Between having to physically go to the venues and standing in long queue at the polling station to counting the vote by hand the entire process is time consuming at the same time expensive. Malicious actors have many avenues to influence paper ballot based elections using intimidation at the polling booth by capturing the ballot box or stuffing the box by fake votes. Similarly, in Electronic voting machines, a highly motivated group can get hold of the machine and change the chip so whichever button is pressed, all the votes go to one political party. Another issue is it whether it is impossible to keep track of the votes. How can we be sure that our vote was counted or perhaps in case of ballot paper, not thrown away? The present article discusses ways of bringing voting systems into the 21st century by using the Blockchain Technology.
