The reflection of the homeland, the Lithuanian nation, the native land is very important in Antanas Vaičiulaitis’ creative work and personal correspondence. Letters, written 1924–1992 reveal a creative being, closely related to the formation of the image of Lithuania, its embodiment and the preservation of the memory of the motherland. The image of the homeland is often conveyed by the symbolism of a lost paradise, accompanied by the feelings of a tragic denouement. The construct of homeland as a paradise began to emerge in the writer’s early childhood, in letters it is portrayed as a mythical Eden. Through the mother, the space of home and the nature surrounding it, the metaphor of the motherland-fortress was formed. By comparing the homeland with his beloved mother, Antanas Vaičiulaitis conveyed the great pain, caused by the Lithuanian occupation. Jono Jablonskio nuopelnai lietuvių bendrinės kalbos kūrimo bei norminamojo darbo baruose neabejotini ir nepaneigiami. Visose srityse -rašybos, fonetikos, morfologijos, sintaksės, leksikos -jis pasiekė labai svarių rezultatų: nustatė rašybos taisykles, kalbos normas teikė remdamasis gyvąja žmonių kalba, kūrė naujus žodžius, kurie ir dabar tebevartojami. 150-ųjų gimimo metinių jubiliejus paskatino dar kartą peržvelgti Jono Jablonskio darbus ir kai ką įvertinti naujai, leksikografo akimis, susidomėti menkai tirtu šios srities palikimu. Apie atskirus jo leksikografijos darbus buvo rašyta, vieną kitą užuominą galima rasti apie žodyno kartoteką. Šios srities darbus išsamiau apžvelgė Antanas Lyberis (žr. Lyberis 1982: 16-20). Mūsų žodynėlį -kaip svarbų leksikografijos darbą -aptarė Stasys Keinys (1990: 14-19). Leksikografinis J. Jablonskio palikimas nuodugniau neįvertintas, taigi šio straipsnio tikslas -apžvelgti kalbininko darbus, susijusius su leksikografija. Straipsnyje nesiekiama atlikti išsamios J. Lietuvos mokslo taryba, 3 Lietuvos akademinių bibliotekų direktorių asociacija, 4 Vilniaus universitetas Anotacija Nuo 2006 m. kuriama tarptautinė mokslinė duomenų bazė Lituanistika, finansuojama Europos Sąjungos struktūrinių fondų lėšomis. 2011 m. rugpjūčio 25 d. pasirašyta tęstinio projekto "Duomenų bazė Lituanistika" (projekto kodas VP1-3.1-ŠMM-02-V-02-003) trijų metų finansavimo ir administravimo sutartis tarp Europos socialinio fondo agentūros ir Lietuvos mokslo tarybos. Pristatyta duomenų bazės Lituanistika, kaupiančios ir skleidţiančios patikrintą, kokybišką informaciją apie Lietuvoje ir pasaulyje atliekamus lituanistikos mokslinius tyrimus, pagrindiniai uţdaviniai, veiklos ir plėtros gairės. Aptarta informacinių ir ryšių (informacinių komunikacinių) technologijų taikymas šioje duomenų bazėje, jos sąsajos su Lietuvos virtualaus universiteto programos LABT uţdavinio projektiniais produktais ir kitomis mokslinių tyrimų infrastruktūromis.

In 1573, Henry de Valois, Duke of Anjou, was elected as the king of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, and some literary works were published to familiarize the French public with the history of Poland and Lithuania, the geographical and economic situation of the country. Some Polish historical works were translated into French (e.g. the chronicle of Jan Herburt of Felsztin), many poets wrote occasional poems, dedicated to the future king, in French, Polish, and Latin. This article aims to discuss the poem Henrias, dedicated to Henry de Valois, written in Latin by a French poet under the pseudonym Jean de La Gessée, – a rare and completely unexplored work until today. Henrias was addressed not only to the future king but also to the court, the French diplomats and ambassadors of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Life in the eighteenth century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was signified by active interference of the Russian Empire in the politics of the state. Imperial army was continuously summoned to reinforce Russian interests and to support internal feuds of the Commonwealth. Lithuanian and Polish society was forced to reconcile with the presence of foreign army in the country, whereas Russian officers sought to utilize their presence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in enhancing useful personal relationships and for the purposes of propaganda. The article explores the relationship between the society of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Russian officers in daily life, how both sides built this coexistence, and how it was changing depending on circumstances. Analysis of sources on everyday life of Vilnius showed that daily life of its citizens was burdened by the obligation of housing and feeding the army, although in ordinarily they tried not to confront this menacing power.
