A blockchain is decentralized immutable ledger technology maintaining integrity. So to conduct tamperproof election it’s one of the approach towards it. Smart contracts are Self executed code that is written on Ethereum platform in blockchain. An E-voting system should be completely secure and does not allow voting twice that is double spending in blockchain. So it should be completely transparent. In research work electronic voting application is implemented and tested using smart contract on Ethereum platform with the help of metamask wallet. The results of ballots and votes will be stored on Ethereum blockchain with the help of consensus algorithm proof of stake. This consensus is used in validating a transaction with concept of majority approval. Current electronic voting system requires a centralized authority to control the procedure from ballot input to result output and for monitoring of election. While blockchain technology provide decentralized system which is open across ...

Nowadays, normal voting using EVM(Electronic voting machine) which stores the votes of each voter in a centralized database. And after researching many different e-voting applications, most of the application used centralized data storage as the database. As, these centralized databases stores the complete data at a single location and is easy hackable and can be tampered with. Hence, due to this the data can be inconsistent while voting count and will not provide us with the correct result.Hence, using blockchain technology, we create a decentralized application where the tampering of data becomes almost impossible as Blockchain uses the decentralized algorithm for the data storage where the data is stored at a single location. The main objective of E-voting system using blockchain is to create a e-voting system underneath using a blockchain technology. This system is just like a normal voting system, of which same process is conducted on e-voting which used to be conducted on the normal paper-based voting with the use of mobile, web browser for the voting purpose by the voters. Therefore, this paper will give a review of blockchain technology and how this technology will be used in E-voting system.

The revolutionary concept of blockchain has given a rise to multiple facets of secure, accountable, online services. We witness the rise of E-voting as a critical topic related to online services. Blockchain with smart contracts emerges as a good candidate to use in the development of safer, cheaper, more secure, more transparent, and easier to use e-voting systems. Ethereum and its network are one of the most viable candidates for the implementation of an e-voting system using blockchain, due to their consistency, widespread use, and provision of smart contracts logic. An e-voting system must be secure, as it should prevent duplication of votes while being fully transparent and protecting the privacy of the voters involved. In this work, we have implemented and tested a sample voting web-application as a smart contract for the Ethereum network using the Ethereum wallets and the Solidity language. Eventually, when elections are held, the Ethereum blockchain will store votes and voting results. Users can connect their Ethereum wallet and vote for the candidate they want to, and these transaction requests are processed by the consensus of each Ethereum node. These agreements create a transparent voting environment.

Voting is a primary right of every citizen living in a country. Traditional methods used for voting includes paper ballot system, EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines), etc. which are still followed and trusted by every voter or citizen blindly. These voting systems can have ambiguity as the data is maintained under a centralized environment whether it is counting the paper ballots or storing the vote caste on a computer server. This use of a centralized database for the voting system has some security issues such as Data modification through the third party in the network due to the use of the central database system as well as the result of the voting is not shown in real-time, or manipulation with the data which can hamper the result and thus have an impact on not only system integrity but also lose faith in democracy, government, nation, etc. The voting methods used in an election should be legal, accurate, safe, and convenient.

The project's main purpose is to establish an effective e-voting mechanism by leveraging blockchain's capabilities, such as cryptographic foundations and transparency. However, there are still barriers to wider adoption of such systems, especially in terms of strengthening their resilience. The old traditional technique, which relies on a centralised infrastructure, has security and transparency issues. Some of the issues with traditional election systems include a lack of complete control over an organization's database and system, as well as the possibility of tampering with the database. Blockchain technology is based on a decentralized system, with multiple users accessing the same database. Blockchain technology creates a network structure data with built-in security features. It is built on the encryption, decentralization, and consensus principles, which ensure transaction confidence. Participants in the network each have their own private keys, which are associated with the transactions they conduct and serve as a personal digital signature. The project's main purpose is to allow voters to vote in the most secure and transparent way possible from anywhere on the planet.

The Secure Electronic Voting System using Blockchain Technology is ensured to make the current voting process to take place in an honest, accurate and highly secure way. This system stores the details of the voters and votes in two separate blockchains, which provides transparency into election results by allowing voters to independently audit the ballot box while protecting each voter's right to privacy. All the details of the voters get stored into one Blockchain, and this guarantees greater security by providing a PIN confirmed before the vote is taken into consideration. By casting votes as transactions, we can create another blockchain which keeps track of the tallies of the votes. This way, everyone can count the votes themselves, they can verify that no votes were changed or removed, and no illegitimate votes were added and as a result, is made public everyone can agree upon the final count. This system is only taking the current process of voting in an election and bringing that process entirely online, in an attempt to make it highly secure and also more accessible by allowing the voter to vote at his/her location and also reducing the effort put by staff members.

Developing a protected electronic voting system that gives the decency and security of a current voting system, while providing the accuracy and flexibility offered by electronic systems, has been a test for quite a while. Use of blockchain as an assist to actualize disseminated digital balloting structures is accessed. At the present, neither civilians nor elected leaders have favoured conventional ballots. Elections are surrounded via way of means of vote falsification, bribery and different vote casting problems paper and polling shape balloting a ballot system, the checking of vote's takes hours and the number of the time days and hardly ever any activities reduce to rubble the effects through distinctive feature of human or machine. There needs to be an awesome function of current technology to improve the prevailing system. Blunder, which brings about the process taking much more. Blockchain innovation offers a fact in which that character flaw is eliminated from the situation and votes are checked proper away. Blockchain generation is the only one that handles the real vote. We use the stable hash set of rules for resolving this trouble and attempted to convey an answer via using this booming generation. The system based on blockchain will be safe, trustworthy, and private. It will help to realize the general remember of the applicants who participated and its capabilities inside the equal manner as people's religion of their governments does. The citizens and political selection executives can get sizable benefits from the voting poll programming application. And yet, e-vote casting a poll gives large risks to political race safety and honesty and modifications the concept of political selection straightforwardness and investigation. E-Voting has a Relatively bit of freedom; at the cease of the day, Relative Advantage is degree while an improvement is regarded as advanced to the past one; Since, e-Voting is advanced to the guide vote casting system.

In a democratic country like India (which is the largest democracy in the world), voting plays a significant role in selecting government officials and showing our opinion on how the governing body to be formed. Blockchain platforms are already available, and many companies have already begun applying blockchains to their business. It is used in industry, but it can also be applied as a service and make voting more accessible. Online voting is an alternative to the old paper ballot system and the currently popular electronic voting machines (EVM). An electronic voting portal should offer security and integrity and the transparency of votes and voters' privacy. Therefore, NRIs and adult internet users can cast their ballots in a matter of seconds despite their location on the day of the election. This will be easy and more secure. In the current system, there's a high risk of false votes and damage to property. People don't want to stand in enormous queues and wait for a long time. Also, people who conduct the election have to follow a completely different procedure for voting, which takes more time, and there's no transparency. The paper also presents the state of the art of some blockchain frameworks for e-voting. This paper presents a literature review of the techniques used to tackle voting challenges.

Voting is arguably the most important as well as elementary right in democracy that has existed for the past hundreds of years; it has taken place in the context of a large- and small-scale community. The process transitioned from paper ballots to electronic voting machines (EVM) in the late 20th century, but even with all the advancement, transparency in the election process remained the same. Blockchain technology came in existence in 2008 with the introduction of Bitcoin by Satoshi Nakamoto, and in the last decade we saw enormous growth in development and execution of this technology in various fields e-voting is one of them, blockchain-based e-voting system has potential to improve the election process if utilized to its potential. Blockchain can eliminate the need to print ballot paper as it is secure, immutable and convenient to voters and can make elections more transparent.
An electronic voting system that uses blockchain technology completes the stage of establishing a secure and transparent environment for decisions where voters will actually want to vote only once and the vote will not be interrupted. The operation of the block chain will ensure that the votes are kept in line with them and that the situation is not deceived by any outsider. Protected electronic voting structures use a block chain which is a separate, distributed and tracking transaction record that follows peer-to-peer transactions. Each vote given will be considered a role as one job. These votes will be counted and the results will be reported immediately. Voting is a very important and important event organized in all countries by secret ballot or by ballot. Such processes have many drawbacks such as vote disruption, low turnout and so on. To overcome all this, we will introduce a series of voting programs.

Electronic voting or E-voting, is the process by which votes can be cast through electronic means, such as an Electronic Voting Machine or voter's personal device. This study aims to create a reasonably secure and hassle-free system through which votes can be cast by users through their phones with relative ease as compared to traditional means. Voting takes place through an app on the device, in which the user signs in with their ID and PIN. This lets the user establish secure means of communication with the server by exchanging encryption keys and authorization tokens, which in turn lets the user and server authenticate secure using various factors of authentication, such as a Time-based OTP system, to verify the user's identity and let the cast their vote securely onto the server's private blockchain. On the server side there will be "nodes" and an "owner" server that share a private blockchain, which handle counting the votes, authentication, user creation and managing the voting system and its configuration. After all the authentication is done, the user can cast their vote in the final part of the process. This will be verified using a token generated separately on both client and server side. If it matches then the user will get an appropriate message confirming their vote being cast, and upon failure the user can contact the appropriate authority conducting the poll for further action.

National elections are a big deal which has a major role in the development and progress of a country. The security of an election is in fact the matter of national security. Current voting systems in the context of Nepal and other parts of the world are still traditional and insecure. From the dawn of democracy, elections are still based on pen and papers. While there are new electronic voting machines, these systems have a high risk of rigging and are prone to failure, crashes, and attacks from intruders. The stated problems can be addressed through the implementation of new technology namely Blockchain for a transparent and reliable voting process. A blockchain based voting platform has been built to make the voting process digital, secure, reliable and intuitive. The votes casted by voters are stored in the blockchain, thus making it immutable and secure. The system can be scaled based on the requirements of an election. Voters can login to the system with the help of encrypt...
