Abstract

Caloreas cydrota is a species of the Choreutidae family, whose individuals are known as "metalmark" due to the colorations exhibited on their wings. Knowledge about this group is scarce in Colombia, even though these insects could be considered for biological control studies of weeds with insects due to the significant phytophagous activity of some of its species on plants like Conyza bonarinesis. This research expands the occurrence records of this microlepidopteran in 6 municipalities of the department of Antioquia and describes the damage to plants.
