This study implements a Virtual Environment setting to enhance and develop the physical aspects of teaching the Islamic prayer to primary school children, in comparison to traditional forms of teaching through a prayer book and prayer video. An interactive teaching system, the interactive Islamic Prayer (iIP) has been developed for this purpose. Through quantitative analysis of the participants' learning experiences, this study investigates which approach the participants preferred, in terms of their comprehension, participation and overall satisfaction. The results revealed a higher degree of interaction within the lesson on prayer was found using the iIP compared to the traditional teaching methods, and although some were unfamiliar with the X-Box 360 Kinect console, on the whole, they found it fun and educational. The findings also showed that the software was able to focus on lower level thinking skills such as recalling information and memory, as a test of the students' knowledge on the prayer before and after using the software showed a significant improvement in comparison to the other approaches. Recommendations have been given on how to effectively implement this software within these relevant classrooms.

This paper explores from the teachers' point of view how new interactive technology for teaching the Islamic Prayer in Primary Schools can enhance engagement and interaction in the classroom. An interesting aspect of the research in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is that it focuses on both the human and computer perspectives. From the technological side, the focus is on how the computer hardware can improve the quality of HCI. Computer graphics for example, aims to ensure the graphics of a game is of a good standard so users will enjoy their game play, whilst operating systems are also considered in order to ensure good multiprocessing and to tune system response times to human interaction times. From the human side, HCI is primarily focused on the cognitive relationship with computers by ensuring the design is suitable for humans to operate successfully. The interactive Islamic Prayer (iIP) system designed for Xbox 360 Kinect with this specific goal in mind, and as an alternative to traditional learning methods. The participants for the research are Saudi Arabian primary school teachers in Jeddah, who currently teach the prayer using a traditional method. The teachers were experienced in all methods of learning (the controlled traditional method, and the iIP software) before making an informed decision on which method they prefer through a qualitative analysis of the participants teaching experiences. In addition, observations of each teaching session were organized to see how the methods engage the learners. The results show that learning by doing is extremely effective in helping the pupil' practice, interact and remember the prayer movements.

Before performing Hajj and Umrah, all Malaysian are compulsory to attend a special course organized by Malaysian government like Tabung Haji and non-government organization (NGO). This course is held to increase participants' understanding about the Ibadah. Despite using conventional method, lesson, and practices about Hajj and Umrah can be done by using technology like Virtual Reality. This technology has been found can help enhance the outcome of the courses, as this course is quite complicated and difficult to understand. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop a virtual environment that provide learning materials on how to perform Hajj. This study used constructive design of successful technology to attract user interest in using Virtual Hajj as a learning tool. ADDIE Model which consists of five phases (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) has been used for the development purposes. Meanwhile, for evaluating Virtual Hajj, a set of questionnaires has been distributed to 16 respondents. Based on the evaluation, it has been found that user still need to adapt with the new learning environment. Despite that, the finding also showed that the positive feedback from the participants and overall activity had a positive effect on them.
Digital technology-based learning or virtual learning is a method of learning in schools and an alternative learning method for Islamic boarding schools, including Islamic education boarding schools from house to house. Previous findings have proven the effectiveness of using a virtual learning approach for university and boarding schools. However, few people know that this virtual approach can also be used for alternative home-to-house learning for the younger generation who want to study religion. For this reason, we have carried out data collection and in-depth analysis involving a coding system and high data interpretation under a phenomenological approach that we have resulted out with very valid and reliable findings. The data we use comes from a database of technology and learning journal publications, books, and educational technology development websites, all of which have become the primary data for this study. It is hoped that this finding is a valuable input in efforts to solve the problem of learning Islamic religion from house to house apart from pesantren and Islamic schools.
