The recent years have significantly changed the perception of web services and data storages, as clouds became a big part of IT market. New challenges appear in the field of scalable web systems, which become bigger and more complex. One of them is designing load balancing algorithms that could allow for optimal utilization of servers' resources in large, distributed systems. This paper presents an algorithm called Two-Level Load Balancing, which has been implemented and evaluated in Onedata-a global data access system. A study of Onedata architecture, request types and use cases has been performed to determine the requirements of load balancing set by similar, highly scalable distributed systems. The algorithm was designed to match these requirements, and it was achieved by using a synergy of
With technological advancements and constant changes of Internet, cloud computing has been today's trend. With the lower cost and convenience of cloud computing services, users have increasingly put their Web resources and information in the cloud environment. The availability and reliability of the client systems will become increasingly important. Today cloud applications slightest interruption, the impact will be significant for users. It is an important issue that how to ensure reliability and stability of the cloud sites. Load balancing would be one good solution. This paper presents a framework for global server load balancing of the Web sites in a cloud with two-level load balancing model. The proposed framework is intended for adapting an open-source load-balancing system and the framework allows the network service provider to deploy a load balancer in different data centers dynamically while the customers need more load balancers for increasing the availability.

Abstract In data-intensive computing, an important problem that has received relatively little attention is of transparent processing of data stored in remote data repositories. Interesting load balancing considerations arise for these scenarios. Particularly, based on where data is generated and how it is shared, a dataset of interest can be divided across multiple data repositories, which may be geographically distributed and the data may be partitioned in a number of ways.

As Cloud Computing is one of the greatest platform which provides storage of data in very lower cost and available for all time over the internet, load balancing for the cloud has become a very interesting and important research area. Load balancing helps to achieve a high user satisfaction and resource utilization ratio by ensuring an efficient and fair allocation of every computing resource. Many algorithms were suggested to provide efficient mechanisms and algorithms to enhance the overall performance of the Cloud and provide the user more satisfying and efficient service. In this paper, we investigate the different algorithms proposed to resolve the issue of load balancing in cloud computing.

Web growth has been driven by a number of techniques. In massive scale processing, cloud computing is the rising technology. It is a method that consists of varied software and Web-enabled services. As cloud computing grows speedily and purchasers are stringent a lot of services, the traffic on the cloud increases tremendously. Thus, managing load balance is very interesting and important research area nowadays. A decent load balancing algorithm can enhance the performance and resource utilization by dynamically distributing workload among a range of nodes within the system. This paper addresses a comprehensive summary on load balancing algorithms, challenges, and various presently offered load balancing software and its features.

In this paper we are discussing Load Balancing approach. Many types of load concern with cloud like memory load, CPU load and network load. Load balancing is the process of distributing load over the different nodes which provides good resource utilization when nodes are overloaded with job. Load balancing has to handle the load when one node is overloaded. When node is overloaded at that time load is distributed over the other ideal nodes. Many algorithms are available for load balancing like Static load balancing and Dynamic load balancing.

Cloud computing is a term, which involves virtualization, distributed computing, utility computing, networking, software and web services .As advancements of various areas of technology increases, different types of issues have been introduced in cloud. In this paper we analysis about load balancing of cloud computing with some of the existing load balancing techniques, which are responsible to manage the load when some node of the cloud system is overloaded and others are under loaded. Load balancing ensures that all the processors in the system as well as in the network does approximately the equal amount of work at any instant of time

Cloud computing is emerging as a new paradigm of large-scale distributed computing. Load balancing is one of the main challenges in cloud computing which is required to distribute the dynamic workload across multiple nodes to ensure that no single node is overwhelmed. This paper consists the concepts of cloud computing and some of the methods of load balancing in large scale Cloud systems. Our aim is to provide an evaluation and comparative study of these approaches, demonstrating different algorithms for load balancing and to improve the different performance parameters like throughput, response time, latency etc. for the clouds.

Numerous works have been done for load balancing of web servers in grid environment. Reason for popularity of grid environment is to allow accessing distributed resources which are located at remote locations. For effective utilization, load must be balanced with all resources. Importance of load balancing is discussed by distinguishing the system between without load balancing and with load balancing. Various performance metrics that needed to be considered for designing an efficient load balancing algorithm are also described. Intensive review of literature of different load balancing approaches for web servers had been carried out and presented in this paper.
