In this work, in order to support physically handicapped persons a low cost voice controlled wheelchair is proposed. The person can control the wheelchair by voice commands. This paper presents the proposal, design and implementation of a microcontroller based voice controlled wheelchair. As speech is the preferred mode of operation for human being, this work intends to make the voice oriented command words for controlling wheelchair. Voice recognition module has to be added to the wireless network. The voice command is a person independent. The system comprises of transmitting and receiving module. Initially, the voice command is stored in the data base with the help of the function keys. Then the input voice commands are transmitted through wireless. Physically challenged persons those who are suffering from different physical disabilities face many challenging problems in their day-to-day life for commutating from one place to another and even sometimes they need to have to be dependent on other people to move from one place to another. The purpose of this task is to make a Multi-Functional Wheelchair using Accelerometer ADXL335 and ESP32 as sensor to help physically disabled human beings in transferring from one region to any other simply by giving path from the hand, voice, Bluetooth. This Accelerometer ADXL335 and ESP32 primarily based totally challenge use Accelerometer ADXL335 and ESP32 for transferring backward path, ahead path, left path or proper path. We have advanced a Multi-useful wheelchair for medically disable human beings. We are working wheelchair by multi-feature 1) Bluetooth (Using Bluetooth device, ESP32), 2) Hand Gesture (Using Accelerometer ADXL335 MEMS), 3) Voice (ESP32). This makes challenge very powerful. The fundamental of this challenge is achieved retaining in thoughts to able the handicapped man or woman to transport round their domestic without any assist of different character.

There is always a need for a physically challenged persons to seek help of others for moving from one place to another. Thus, the problems that they are facing can be solved by using speech recognition technology to move the wheelchair. Speech recognition technology is a key which may provide a new way of human interaction with machines or tools. The proposed work is to facilitate the movement of people who are disabled or handicapped and elderly people who are not able to move well. Here the Voice Controlled Wheelchair moves by using speech recognition module and with the possibility of avoiding obstacles. A program is designed to interface with the Renesas microcontroller and voice recognition unit that recognizes a voice and in turn controls the movement of wheelchair. The design of this smart system will allow certain people to live a life with less dependence on others. Index Terms – Renesas microcontroller, Speech recognition, Android.

We live in a world, where the technology is growing to the next level every day. But it is very strange to see paralyzed people depending on someone's help for their mobility. In this project, we have developed a smart wheelchair which helps the completely paralyzed patient to move on their own. This is achieved by the voice control method by using an android application connected to the accelerometer. Another method is a hand gesture control method. In this method, we use a flex sensor to control the motion of the wheelchair. Hand gesture control can be used only by partially paralyzed patients. The Android based voice control through the Bluetooth has been designed in the motor, the motor is controlled by the predesigned embedded c software.

— The technology and science has achieved many new heights but still the mankind is left physically disabled at some time in their lives. In the view of present scenario in India among the total population of the country around 27.1% are the sufferer from the disability of the movement. An important aspect of the paper is to integrate persons with disabilities in the society so that they can actively participate in society, be a part of a society and lead a normal life. Therefore in the present work an attempt has been made to provide better maneuverability with the help of a Voice Controlled Wheelchair. The main aim of the paper is to focus on the movement by a voice command. The simple words like Go, Back, Left, Right and Stop are used. The controller decodes the maneuvering commands by speech-recognition techniques and transmits these commands to the Wheelchair motors to affect the desired motion.

Many people with disabilities do not have the necessary ability to control a joystick on an electric wheelchair. Moreover, they have difficulty to avoid obstacles. The aim of this work is to implement a multi-modal system to control the movement of an Electric wheelchair using small vocabulary word recognition system and a set of sensors to detect and avoid obstacles. In this work we adopted the use of a microcontroller , a DSP processor and a hardware speech recognition module for isolated word from a dependent speaker. To give the user more security, we included on the electric wheelchair a set of sensors in order to avoid obstacles. To gain in time design, tests have shown that it would be better to choose a speech recognition kit and to adapt it to the application.

The wide spread prevalence of lost limbs and sensing system is of major concern in present day due to wars, accident, age and health problems. This Omni-directional wheelchair was designed for the less able elderly to move more flexibly in narrow spaces, such as elevators or small aisle. The wheelchair is developed to help disabled patients by using speech recognition system to control the movement of wheelchair in different directions by using voice commands and also the simple movement of the patient's fingers with keypad control. From previous literature surveys it was observed that the moments of wheels of wheelchair is difficult in diagonals direction, in this proposed system achievement of wheelchair movement in all direction is obtained by using multi-directional Omni-wheels which makes the diagonal moments comparatively flexible.

This project opens a new hope to the physically challenged people. Freedom of mobility is the dream for every patient especially in the case of people suffering from cases such as quadriplegics and multiple sclerosis .Although many types of mobility equipments are available for these type of patient there is no independent means of mobility device for these patients since they cannot drive a joystick or manual wheelchair. In order to aid these types of patients we are developing voice operated wheelchair. The movement of the wheelchair is controlled by the voice of the user. This wheelchair can be driven to the preferred direction with minimum effort.The user requires only less training to use this wheelchair. Technically this wheelchair is integrated with a voice recognition module to identify the voice, a microcontroller which can be programmed other supporting hardware components and a motor driver L293D.The proposed microcontroller based voice operated wheelchair would bring more convenience for the disabled people. Two DC motors can be driven simultaneously, both in forward and reverse direction with the help of L293Dmotor driver. Here we can control the motors to move right, left, forward, reverse, free runs and stop or break.To provide tilt operation for this wheelchair we use selective movement of a single motor based on the diameter and speed of the wheel. Also can calculate how much movement is required to tilt the wheelchair at a desired angle.

As per WHO, about 10% of global population i.e. about 650 million people have disabilities. Studies indicate that of these, 10% require wheelchair. And on the other side there is a massive development in wheelchair from joystick movement to staircase climbing wheelchair to standing wheelchair. Two million wheelchairs are being used each year in US alone states the book of The Economics of Knowledge, Innovation and systemic Technology policy. Though the production is huge, still quadriplegic patients faces a lot of hurdles to use the wheelchair in their daily routine. So, the point of the undertaking is to outline a wheelchair communicator framework that could work as the wheelchair of the impeded individual with the assistance of intelligent system. This framework could be utilized by physically debilitate people who can't move their hands or legs however make head movements, particularly for quadriplegic patients. And this wheelchair system can be accessed by both the patient and the care taker.

This paper describes the control of an electric wheel chair with voice commands. This chair has been developed and built at the U.A.H. Electronic Department and financed by the ONCE Foundation (Spain). The first prototype consists of voice recognition, motor control, user interface and central processor modules. The electronic system allows the chair user a safe, easy ride, and guarantees the concordance between user commands and actual trajectories. Furthermore, the system has been designed to allow the addition of future features, like obstacle and stair detection and the tele-commanding of electrical household appliances from the chair.

The main objective of our project is to design a wheel chair for physically disabled persons, controlled by voice input. The entire system is controlled by the PIC (16F877A) microcontroller and the voice recognition IC (HM 2007) is used, which is capable of storing voice signals, and generating good recognition performance on highly disordered speech. The voice IC consists of non-volatile memory back-up with 3V battery onboard, which will store the speech recognition data in RAM after the power off condition. Whenever a voice is given as input in the Mic the received voice is compared against the stored voices. On successful matching of the voice the HM2007 IC will send the corresponding codes to the controller. The controller interprets the command and activates the I/O ports accordingly. The Wheelchair rotation will be based on the motor connected to it. The motor is controlled by the I/O of the controller.

Many disabled people usually rely on others in their standard of living especially in getting from one place to a different. To use wheelchair, they have someone to assist them in moving the wheelchair. Having a wheelchair system will help handicapped persons become independent. The system could be a wireless wheelchair system with a voice recognition system for triggering and controlling all its movements. The wheelchair responds to the voice command by user to perform any movement. It integrates a microcontroller, android phone, control interface board to maneuver the wheelchair. The disabled people cannot move from one location to another location. They always need help for moving wheel chair. The voice controlled system provide more help independently. We describes in this paper about intelligent smart voice controlled wheel chair which operates on disabled voice commands. This system can be controlled by the simple voice commands given by the disabled people. This voice controlled system make them move independent. Joystick interface Powered wheelchairs are unable to be controlled by many people. All the physical disabled person can control the wheel chair easily. Who cannot control their movements especially with the help of hands. Some patients like cerebral palsy, quadriplegic, and multiple sclerosis are dependent on other people to move from one place to another place and due to this they don't have the freedom of mobility. This voice controlled wheelchair helps them to drive the wheelchair without anyone's help. Depending upon the direction specified in the commands, the Arduino nano will drive the motors. The speech recognition is recognized by Google voice service .The bluetooth is connected with Arduino nano which helps for the movement off wheels to which the DC motor is fixed. In this paper, we present our work called wireless voice-based wheelchair controller system, which consists of an Android device and a control system that controls the movement of wheelchair using a DC motor. This project is aim to ease the burden for wheelchair user especially for elderly people to move around. The control system is build using the Yo-Yo (IOIO) platform that controls the DC motor, communicates with the Android phone application using RF receiver through a Bluetooth communication protocol and RF signal.
