RESUM: El concepte de Postmodernitat ha generat interpretacions molt diferents en funció de la seva aplicació a perioditzacions historiogràfiques, debats teòrics o aspectes més concrets. Aquest article revisa les lectures que, en el camp de la literatura catalana, han intentat examinar la més candent contemporaneïtat i, alhora, ofereix una proposta per a la construcció d'una història de les obres literàries dels segles XX i XXI. ABSTRACT: The concept of postmodernity has been interpreted in various different ways in accordance with its use as a historical period, in theoretical debates or in other specific contexts. This article reviews its use in the interpretation of the latest Catalan literature and puts forward some ideas towards a history of the literature of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

ELISABETA LÁSCONI (Adevárul literar §i artistic, Bucarest) I. PRESENTACIO D'UN PROJECTE EDITORIAL AMB NOM PROPI: MERONIA En el panorama de la tradúcelo de narrativa catalana al romanes, durant el 2004, dos nous títols han aparegut publicats a Bucarest. Es tracta deis llibres Guadalajara de Quim Monzó i la novel-la L'omhra de l'eunuc de Jaume Cabré. Aquests títols passen a engrossir la ingent tasca que l'editorial Meronia de Bucarest está fent per a donar a conéixer la literatura i cultura catalanes al públic romanes mitjan9ant traduccions fetes directament del cátala. La «Biblioteca de Cultura Catalana» (BCC) ha constituít i constitueix una iniciativa incitant. Son ja dinou els títols de la coMecció que des de 1998 s'han anat publicant i presentant al públic. Una iniciativa que compta, en primer lloc, amb la il-lusió i el convenciment professional de l'equip editorial, pero també amb l'ajut institucional cátala. Actualment, és ITnstitut Ramón Llull, entitat promotora de la llengua i la cultura catalanes a l'estranger, qui ha vetllat perqué aquest projecte seguís endavant, si bé, ja des deis seus inicis, ha comptat amb el suport de la Institució de les Lletres Catalanes i, en el seu cas, de la Conselleria d'Educació i Cultura del Govem de les Ules Balears. ' Agraím a l'autora que ens hagi permés la traducció del seu «Un splendid concert románese», article aparegut en romanes en Umhra eunucului, Editura Meronia, Bucuresti, 2004.

Scholars tend to draw attention to the characteristics shared by various texts considered “open”, “pluriform”, “fluid” or even “lowbrow literature”, such as, especially, the Life of Alexander by Pseudo-Callisthenes, the Life of Aesop, or some Apocryphal Acts of the Apostles, in particular those of Paul, Peter and Thomas. Undoubtedly, the fluidity of this type of texts explains well some of their compositional devices and the complex vicissitudes of their transmission, but it is important not to lose sight of the fact that their redactors come from a common rhetorical training and that the expectations of their audience were also very similar, with the differences for each work that should not be ignored, of course, but that, in any case, allow to trace some significant common trends. To prove this, I will consider the fluctuation between some of these works of an essentially novel narrative material: the sale of the protagonists as slaves, with the frequent presence of kidnappings by pirates. This shared anecdotal pattern also make it possible to explain the “sapiential” characterization, the image of the clever and cunning sage, which the protagonists of all these works usually present to a greater or lesser extent.

Resum L'article ressegueix l'evolució del discurs crític i la pràctica traductològica en relació amb la narrativa anglosaxona en el si del sistema literari català dels anys vint i fins a l'esclat de la Guerra Civil espanyola. A partir d'un corpus mínimament significatiu d'aportacions crítiques i de traduccions, es posarà de manifest que la general ponderació de la novel·la en els anys vint evoluciona devers la promoció del conte en el marc de la Segona República. L'objectiu de l'ar-ticle és identificar les raons d'aquest canvi, que són principalment d'ordre moral. Abstract. Notes about the English short story in Catalonia during the Republic The article traces the evolution of the critical discourse and the practice on translation in relation to the British narrative within the Catalan literary system of the twenties and until the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. From a minimally significant corpus of translations and critiques, the article shows that the overall praise of the novel in the twenties evolves toward the promotion of the short story in the context of the Second Republic. The aim of this article is to identify the reasons for this change, which are primarily moral.

Después de sus conocidas versiones de algunos de los más importantes poetas catalanes actuales, él poeta José Batlló ofrece al público de lengua castellana-«y aunque es triste tener todavía que traducir del catalán», según Unamuno, hace ya cerca de cuarenta años-una cuidada selección de la narrativa catalana (*), que llama de hoy porque comprende a autores físicamente vivos, y todos, por tanto, de los que han iniciado y van cumpliendo su obra en el presente siglo.
