Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the resilience of health systems to a significant extent at a global level, highlighting many times inherent and acquired weaknesses, such as understaffing, insufficient up-to-date knowledge for crisis management. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to descriptively review the continuing education of nurses for COVID-19. Materials and Methods: A narrative mini review of the published literature over the last 15-years in Greek and English was carried out via Medline, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. The study includes articles delving into continuing nursing education as well as nursing care for patients with COVID-19. Results: Nurses, in the context of their continuing education regarding COVID-19, are to be able, and knowing the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of the disease, to diagnose the active and potential problems of patients. Therefore, they can solve them by applying appropriate interventions. Continuing nursing education could help mitigate this global upheaval and the impact on patients, health staff and the health system in general. Conclusions: Ongoing nursing education programs regarding COVID-19 help nurses develop appropriate up-to-date scientific skills, enabling them to provide more effective health care.
COVID-19 has had a profound impact on society at all levels. A great deal of the impact is felt by those working in the healthcare sector. The current review reflects on the various issues that affect nurses during COVID-19. Issues such as the different emotions experienced by nurses with COVID-19 during the isolation and treatment process, the roles and responsibilities of nurses during COVID-19 pandemic, the psychological distress among nurses in the care of patients with COVID-19, and the various challenges faced by nurses during COVID-19 pandemic. In essence, nurses play a critical role and responsibilities during an emergency and disaster situations. Nurses serving patients in the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic are risking their lives at risk to be able to perform their duties causing tremendous fear of contracting the virus or transmitting it to other people. Therefore, continuous education is needed in other to prepare for the future.

COVID-19 changed the normal function of all over the world and it had great impact on all sectors. Education is very important to shapes our future citizen. COVID 19 affects our education system also. And especially few education sector were practical oriented training based education such as medicine, nursing, applied medical science, engineering etc. Based on this, it is very important because in future we need more doctors, nurses and other health professionals to meet the health needs of our human population and to protect them from the effect of dead full communicable diseases, so there by we need to give training based education for such professionals during this pandemic period in an effective manner to bring out efficient health professionals. As I belong to nursing professional working under academic sector I wish to share the impacts of this COVID 19 pandemic in nursing education sector. In this article you can see various problems or challenges faced in nursing education sector by academicians and also various possible teaching learning solutions handled by various teaching faculties to overcome the educational problems during this pandemic era. I hope this article will be useful for nursing professionals who were working in education sectors to train their nursing students to gain adequate knowledge and practice in their field. Background: It is important that nursing students who will be at the forefront of providing health services and be key personnel in the development of public health practices have sufficient knowledge of COVID-19 and related appropriate practices surrounding the outbreak. Thus, it is necessary to update the nursing curriculum for the changing needs in nursing education in urgent public health problems such as epidemics. Aims: This study aims to determine the knowledge and practices of nursing students about the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study was conducted with 304 nursing students. The study data were collected using online tools consisting of a personal information form and the COVID-19 Knowledge and Practice Questionnaire. Results: Participants had good levels of knowledge and practices regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The students' total mean knowledge score regarding COVID-19 was 28.95 ± 4.46 and their total mean practice score was 5.85 ± 1.03. Conclusions: It is very important that all nurse candidates, who will soon play an active role in the pandemic, have the correct knowledge and practices to prevent its spread. Therefore, the current curriculum for nurses, whom we can describe as the backbone of public health, should be equipped and enriched with evidence to support them during major events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives: Understand the perception during the care work of nursing professionals who work in inpatient units in the care of patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 and describe the experience and challenges of their work in this area of work. Method: Exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study. The interviews were individual, carried out in person. Socio demographic data were previously collected through a self-applied questionnaire. Results: The sample consisted of 25nursing professionals, 84% nurses and16% nursing technicians. Covid-19 created the biggest worldwide public health emergency. Nurses as the largest component of the health care workforce, play an important role both locally and globally in managing. The web-based survey lasted about two weeks between April-May 2020 assessed the nurses' knowledge of and attitude towards Covid-19. Eighty-one nurses from Vlore, Albania, were study participants. Most were female and belonged to the age group 20-29 years, with less than 5 years of work experience. The majority of nurses reported having sufficient knowledge about Covid-19. The sources of information included television, social media, work institution, and the Ministry of Health. Background: Pandemic of COVID-19 coincided with the year of Nurses and Midwives 2020. In war against invisible that has been ongoing during this pandemic, nurses play crucial role. As of June 2020, more than 600 nurses have lost their lives due to COVID-19. Nursing practice takes patients' safety at paramount through continuum of testing, quarantine and isolation. Thus, there is need to review challenges that pandemic has posed as well as the avenues of opportunities that it has opened for nurses. Method: Review of existing literature on nurses, their challenges and opportunities during COVID-19 was done using electronic database. Freely accessible literatures in English language that clearly mentioned on challenges and opportunities of nurses during COVID-19 were included in the study. Result: One of thechallenges that nurses face during COVID-19 is workforce shortage. With increasing number of people infected with COVID-19, it outstretches the existing nursing health workforce, and disproportionately in the low and middle incomes countries. They are at risk of infection and have high job demand. The incidents of suicide among nurses are representation of physical distress and psychological trauma. Role of nurses in patients care during COVID-19 can be underrated and stigmatized. Internationally trained nurses and minorities nurses are at increased risk of discrimination. Despite these challenges, COVID-19 puts forward opportunities for nurses on implementing humanistic theory in practice, self-esteem and sharing of real time stories, contingency management and creativity. It opens platform for leading infection prevention measures and advocacy of profession. Conclusion: Being the pertinent stakeholders in patient care, nurses' faces different challenges as well as some opportunities. COVID-19 has opened avenues for advocacy of nursing profession to get acknowledged for their dedication, perseverance, high morale and contribution during the pandemic management.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic is considered as the most crucial global health calamity of the century and the greatest challenge that the humankind faced since the 2nd World War. Egypt is one of the five African countries with the largest number of cases, with 415,468 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 22,460 deaths. Aim: this study aimed to assess the nursing students' knowledge regarding COVID-19 & precautionary measures regarding COVID-19. Design: A descriptive analytical study was used. Sample: A stratified simple random sample of 334 nursing students. Setting: faculty of nursing, Sohag university. Tools: two tools were used for data collection. 1 st tool was electronic questionnaire to assess the nursing students' knowledge regarding COVID-19 & precautionary measures regarding COVID-19. part Ι: demographic data of nursing students, part ΙΙ: (A) assessment of nursing students' knowledge regarding COVID-19, (B) Source of information regarding COVID-19. part ΙΙΙ: Assessment of nursing student's knowledge regarding precautionary measures toward COVID-19.2 ed tool was observational checklist for the precautionary measures implemented by the nursing students. Results: results of this study indicated that 53.9% of them were male. 67.7% of them were living in rural area.31.1% at first academic year. Total nursing students' knowledge regarding COVID-19 was 64%, precautionary measures was 95%, and their total practice was 80%. Conclusion: Slightly less than two-third of nursing students had a satisfactory knowledge about COVID-19 and majority of them had a satisfactory knowledge about precautionary measures, also most of them had satisfactory practice related to precautionary measures toward COVID-19, and there is a highly statistical correlation between total knowledge of nursing students and their total practice. Recommendation: Instructions about proper use of face mask should be written on the packages.
