This study focuses on the values and culture in the e-folklore. The objectives of the study were to identify and discuss the values in the song lyric ‘The Stork and the Mouse Deer’. The song was taken from phone application in the compilation of the ‘Kingfisher stories’ copyrighted by Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka. The e-folklore was rewritten from the Malay folklore stories. The results of the study showed that the stork has more values as compared to the mouse deer. The stork has good, honest, trust, believe, helpful and concern towards others by giving advices while the mouse deer has good values as in being clever and brilliant. It can be seen that the good values will be disseminated through the e-folklore in order to ensure the readers understand the true meaning of the each values and adapt the values in their everyday lives. This study focuses on the integration of values and culture in the Malay folklore animation. The objectives of the study are to rank and discuss the values and culture in the Malay folklore animation. The study adopts the values incorporated in the Malaysian National Education Philosophy (1996) to analyse the values and culture in the animations. The philosophy consists of 16 values, which are understood by all students in Malaysia. The values stated are related to the culture among the community, with 10 animations from The Kingfisher Stories. The results of the study reveal that the folklore Leader and Palm Tree contain the most number of values, that is, 10 values, while the folklore Crow, with two values, is ranked the lowest. The results show that values and culture are important in folklore. It is hoped that further studies will focus on values in Malay short stories.

This study aimed at making inventory and mapping the folklore in West Lampung of Lampung Province and finding out the cultural values contained in folklore. This type of research was qualitative descriptive where the population in this study was the people who live in West Lampung. The samples respondents were selected through purposive sampling with snawball method. This research stems from the emergence of a problem which is the lack of knowledge of millennial children about folklore from their respective regions, especially children in Southeast Sulawesi. Preservation of folklore which is one part of traditional literature is very important because one of the functions of folklore is as children's character education. One of the folklores from Southeast Sulawesi that needs to be preserved is "Tula-Tula Metulungino Mie Kodosa folklore" originating from Muna. The purpose of this study was to determine the character education contained in Tula-Tula Metulungino Mie Kodosa folklore. This research is a literature study. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The source of the research data comes from the book, Buton and Muna Folklore in Southeast Sulawesi, which was published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Language Development and Language Development Center in 1998 in Jakarta, 144 pages thick. The result showed that character education contained in the Tula-Tula Metulungino Mie Kodosa folklore, that is helpful, kind, patient, and never give up. This folklore is important for millenial generation in digital era because it educates them to have good characters and helpfull in preventing the folklore extinction.

Folklore is a story that originated in society and developed in society in the past which played an important role in the development of children's character learning in the form of moral values. The purpose of this study was to explain the moral values contained in folklore to improve character education. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. Where all the data collected is based on books and other supporting document data. From the discussion of the Timun Mas folklore, there are eight prominent moral values, namely religious values, independent values, curiosity values, hard work values, responsibility values, honesty values, creativity, the value of the spirit of hard work. And from the research results, it can be concluded that the folklore of Timun Mas has many moral values that can be applied in the world of Education to shape character .

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to explore child educational content digital folklore on YouTube, and It is used to teach young children about science, language, and values. The unit analysis on this research was the video of Pak Lebai Malang from West Sumatera, Indonesia.Design/methods/approach – The qualitative content analysis method was used in this study. The content analyzed was digital folklore based on the Minangkabau story Pak Lebai Malang. The folklore entitled Lubuk Emas is one of the stories that come from North Sumatra, Indone-sia. The aim of this study is the researcher wants to show the importance of moral value and character-building education through the Lubuk Emas folklore. This research used the library research method, where the researcher will gathering information about the moral value and character-building education through Lubuk Emas folklore. The results of this study are to show that the character has a different characterization and also give the reader a different mo-rality include individual morality and social morality. Which later can be applied in everyday life through studying the characters so that the children will grow with a commendable person-ality and character. The Maritime Society of the Riau Islands Province has various forms and varieties of folklore, for instance the Legend of the Alut Island. This legend has the value of local wisdom that is appropriate for character education media at the primary and secondary education levels. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the educational value of Alut Island folklore characters, (2) assist teachers in providing literary teaching materials (folklore), (3) help the availability of learning materials about folklore, and to (4) introduce students about the folklore of Alut Island. This research includes qualitative research. The research method uses content analysis method. Data collection techniques using document techniques and the data analysis using structural techniques. The result of the research is that the Legend of Alut Island contains character education values, for instance religious values, hard work, and responsibility values.

ABSTRAK Mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada Kurikulum 2013 bertujuan agar siswa mampu mendengarkan, membaca, memirsa, berbicara, dan menulis. Kompetensi dasar dikembangkan berdasarkan tiga hal yang saling berhubungan. Ketiga hal tersebut adalah bahasa, sastra, dan literasi. Folklore is a strategic media for the educational process, namely expository and humanistic for children. Nowadays, local wisdom attracts international attention. Local wisdom includes various things about the diversity of values, customs, and culture. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of local wisdom folklore texts in theIndonesian textbook for ten grade senior high school students. The values of local wisdom are elaborated as follows: (1) the religious values (religion), (2) the social values, (3) the moral values, (4) the leadership values, (5) the exemplary/heroic values, (6) the traditional and cultural values, and (7) thedevotion value. The object of this studywas the Indonesian textbook for ten grade senior high school studentsfolklore text. The results of the study showed that the Indonesian textbook for senior high school contains local wisdom value. By understanding the local wisdom value it is hoped that students can internalize and take the values from it. The approach used in this research was the critical discourse analysis approach.

Folklore is one of cultures which develops in an area. The existence of folklore nowadays almost comes to an extinction because it is not kept and preserved. As the consequence, the society is lack of awareness in applying the local wisdom contained in the folklore into their daily life. This research was conducted as the form of effort to make the society has view or positive thought. Beside that, it is also as the learning by applying the value of local wisdom, and the value of character education in it. This research aims to describe the value of local wisdom and the value of character education in folklore as one of alternative media and can be used as the guideline in the society. The form of this research was qualitative by using etnography research strategy. Data were obtained through interview and observation. The results of this research found out some value of local wisdoms; (1) work hard value, (2) discipline value, (3) peace value, (4) honesty value, and (5) grateful value. It is always interesting to talk about folklore since it can entertain the people and gives moral values. In Aceh, folklore, which is known as Haba , has special position in the community. It contains moral values that can be used as an example in human life. The purpose of this study was to describe the religious values in Acehnese folklore, Haba Putroe Kaoy. The document used in the research was Haba Putroe Kaoy text rewritten by Herman RN. This is qualitative study with a content analysis research model. In this study, the Haba Putroe Kaoy was analyzed based on Islamic religious values. Based on the analysis, the researcher found that Haba Putroe Kaoy contains seven religious values, namely; doing worship, praying to God, giving alms, helping others, believing in God’s power, believing and accepting destiny, and obeying parents’ advices. In conclusion, Haba Putroe Kaoy contains religious values which can be used as character education for the listener.

This study aims to describe the various social characters and local wisdom found in Sasak folklore as basic material for the development of local wisdom-based digital storybooks in elementary schools. The study investigated: (1) The developing forms of Sasak folklore, (2) The forms of social character found in Sasak folklore, (3) The forms of local wisdom found in Sasak folklore, and (4) The Sasak folklore that could be developed into digital storybooks in elementary schools. The data of this descriptive qualitative research were collected through observation, documentation review, literature review, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data analysis was carried out by following the principles in qualitative research. This study found that: (1) The developing forms of Sasak folklore in the community were verified as many as 37 stories, including Putri Mandalike, Gunung Pujut, Balang Kesimbar, Sigar Penjalin, Leklek Kelindung, and others; (2) The dominant forms of social character include empathy, establishing communication, being obedient, respecting each other, helping each other, and being willing to sacrifice; (3) The dominant forms of local wisdom include: giving mutual advice, visiting one another, trusting each other, helping each other; and (4) The Sasak folklores that can be developed into digital storybooks in elementary schools, which in accordance with the elementary school curriculum, include Balang Kesimbar,

Reog Ponorogo folklore is closely related to the value of character education. Today in addition to cognitive and psychomotor, character education is a fundamental aspect needed for education in Indonesia. This article aims to examine the values of character education contained in Reog Ponorogo folklore. Reog Ponorogo folklore written by S. Hadi Wirodarsono and published by PT. Kharisma. The method used in this research is content analysis. This article shows that in many Reog Ponorogo folklore once found values of character education. The value there that deserves to be replicated and there is also inappropriate to emulate. Author through descriptions and dialogue capable of presenting data on the value of character education. Expected values of character education in Reog Ponorogo folklore can be integrated in everyday.

This research present was analysis folklores in Sumatera Island which aimed to know how much folklore in there and the correlation with moral values. There were some steps, such as the first step was reading the folklores in detail. In this step, the chose folklores were read carefully and detail. It was used a deep observation to find the data. The aim of this studies is to investigate character education values in andai-andai folklore and how the folklore could be used as a media to educate children in Bengkulu. The study used a qualitative method. The data were collected by observation, documentation, and interview. The data were analysed by collecting data, selecting data, interpreting data and giving conclusion. The results of this research showed that andaiandai folklore contains many good values about building harmony, relationship for educating children to be better in morality and characters.
