The production of publications is a key component of one's career advancement in medicine. The goal of this piece is to discuss five tips to help health profession students get started in medical writing. First, students should take full advantage of the time-saving resources at the local academic biomedical library. Second, outlining a manuscript is one of the essential first steps for producing a successful, high-quality publication. Third, planning the manuscript and writing efficiently is critical since many young authors are either in medical school or residency and do not have ample time to devote to the writing process. Fourth, communicating complex concepts, thoughts, ideas, and observations in a simple way is important and helps limit redundancies, awkward passages, and improves reader comprehension. Lastly, a student can maximize their chances at publication if they are persistent in how they approach manuscript submission. The chances for successful publication of a project can be increased if young authors consider the tips supplied here.

A clear delineation is obvious to understand specific aspects regarding the use of academic writing in health care. Thus, more pragmatic and less general aspects of academic writing for medical purposes will be taken into account. Due to solid experience in students’ education of LSP at medical faculties, we are delighted to share our academic experience primarily with students as well as with our colleagues. The paper will be focused on emphasizing the critical points of structuring medical texts. Namely, it will present the path of text structuring to help readers understand the specific aspects of high relevance for medical authors. Also, it will draw attention to the role of health care practitioners as well as how they should evaluate this aspect in their professional communication. Furthermore, we would like to pay attention to approaching fundamental problems in academic writing in health care.

Background Medical writing is an important component of any research starting with writing a research protocol up to its culmination into presentations and publications. In spite of numerous mandatory academic projects being undertaken in India, the research output in peer-reviewed journals remains low. Lack of proficiency in medical writing has been cited as one of the important causes for same. We conducted a pre- and post-continued medical education (CME) multiple choice questions (MCQs) questionnaire test to assess the baseline knowledge of the participants in this field and observe their improvement after the CME. Materials and methods 210 medical students and faculty from various medical disciplines participated in the workshop. Increasing organization in the field of medicine, as in every other field of human endeavor, has raised the level of contributions to medical literature. Far too often, however, physicians still prepare their contributions with a striving and agony and delay comparable to the delivery of human progeny by one untutored in the refinements of obstetrics. Medical language, in fact is challenging, attractive and has obscure nature due to the scientific concepts and lexical-specific terms .This study investigates the medical register in selected internet articles from syntactic, semantic, and, the stylistic aspects. The study has proposed some hypotheses that passivation is extensively used in medical language, Having the data from the net chosen and analyzed, the study has come up with a number of conclusions ,such as passive tenses are commonly used in medical articles .The main medical words are derived from Latin and Greek words. They are also often derived from eponyms, medical language, like any other scientific language, is full of abbreviation, acronyms, complicated and obscure words.

How to Practice Academic Medicine and Publish from Developing Countries?, 2021

Although India is the second-largest country in the world where the English language is spoken, we often use it incorrectly and tend to be verbose. When it comes to writing skills, we use convoluted phrases and complex words when simple ones would do. A medical paper does not need to be written in theatrical or Shakespearean English. We should express ourselves using short words and simple sentences which convey to a reader why we did the study, how we did it, what the results were and whether they are important, what is known about the subject and what your paper adds. Often, even if your article contains good science it may be rejected by Western journals because you did not state clearly what you wanted to convey. We need to improve not only our scientific endeavours but also our writing skills to be accepted for publication in the world’s best journals.
