In this article I deal with the efficiency of multimedia teaching programs, analyzing possibilities for their improvement in the field of language teaching. This research has been carried out with the use of the latest technologies, language teaching software, internet based language teaching applications, digital dictionaries, online content, and the latest results from the field of computational linguistics. The goal of my research is to create a general model that serves and supports various kinds of approaches to improving efficiency; I cannot attempt to present a complete, detailed analytical review due to the complexity and size of this topic. However, my opinion is that by considering and understanding the theoretical aspects of the subject, and supported by certain important ideas, we will be able to achieve remarkable improvements in the field of learning efficiency and knowledge retention in the language teaching and learning process that might lead to outstanding results.

The globalization processes occurring in the world as well as constant scientific and technical progress are reflected in the field of education. Requirements for the quality of education along with teachers' qualification are constantly growing, the role of e-learning education is constantly increasing, and, as a result, boundaries between classroom/full-time and distance education via electronic technologies are blurred. The number of universities using elearning technologies is growing year by year. The current study presents a research on results of e-learning in language instruction among students of Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University. The study aims at determining efficiency of implementing electronic educational resources education in linguistic subjects. The results of the study show that the majority of students approve of studying linguistic subjects via electronic educational resources. The study discusses various aspects of language instruction by means of electronic educational resources.
SOCIETY. INTEGRATION. EDUCATION. Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference, 2017
Contemporary society is actively engaged into technology innovations due to their multi-purposeful usage for personal, professional and educational reasons. Many new terms defining information communication technologies appear but the paper focuses on the interactive media, which may be considered as an integral part of the phenomenon. It is aimed to analyze and discuss the possibilities of integration of interactive media into language learning process to support the efficiency of the study process taking into consideration the needs and achievements of students. The lectures organized with traditional teaching material are getting old-fashioned gradually; therefore, new trends appear in the education process and technologies have to be successfully integrated by the teachers working in higher education institutions. Currently life pace is extremely fast, and rapid changes influence the life of young people who want to be well-educated and prepared for the further professional care...

In this paper, the effectiveness of a "CyberBuch," a multimedia program for reading authentic German texts, is assessed in three areas. First, based on user evaluation of the visual interface design, the usability of the program is assessed with particular regard to user reaction to the multimedia components of the program. Second, learner behavior while using the program is tracked, and the types of multimedia links chosen are tracked. Third, the effectiveness of the program for two levels of language learning is assessed: short-term recall of vocabulary items and overall reading comprehension. Based on answers to questionnaires, users felt overwhelmingly that seeing a photograph or movie helped reinforce learning, but that the tekt aad audio links were not as helpful. The user logs indicated that a greater proportion of picture and movie links were chosen than text links. The vocabulary tests show that vocabulary words were learned and recalled better when "defined" with picture or movie links than when only textual definitions were available. Eight figures and one table illustrate data.

The most common method to teach foreign languages is the use of course books. However, the 21st century serves other possibilities to use during learning, such as multimedia tools. The use of Internet, newspapers, the radio, or TV might be an alternative to typical language teaching methods. Multimedia can be defined as the exciting combination of computer hardware and software that allows you to integrate video, animation, audio, graphics, and test resources to develop effective presentations on an affordable desktop computer. The method of teaching a foreign language through Multimedia has been used wider and wider and it has contributed a lot to higher teaching quality. Chalk-and-Talk teaching method is not enough to teach a foreign language effectively. We should change our teaching ideas and recognize their impersonal attribute as one kind of teaching method. Thus we can utilize modern education technology reasonably to fulfill the target of language teaching. We live in times ...

One of the most enduring concerns among academic educators is the enhancement of students' academic performance and consequently the improvement of the effective teaching and learning methods. Based on the analyses of our bachelor students' focus group learning style preferences, which were detected by the means of Index of Learning Styles, we implemented various multimedia applications into the instruction of professional English language. The applications were uploaded into the Blackboard LMS and became inevitable part of the online course instruction. As the acquired results proved our students to be mostly sensing and visual, one of the programs enabling visualisation was implemented into the educational process, alongside with relevant educational principles, which have been developed in the course of many years.
Computer technology and Internet are inevitable new media in education methodology. Still, the central role in teaching belongs to humans. The power of Internet lies in offering authentic materials, software, education plans, list of exams, literature, etc. to schools, universities, and institutions all over the world but under the same conditions. Next to its commercial importance, it is seen as pedagogical tool for either the independent research or teamwork. The paper brings out positive and negative effects of new technology and its implementation in foreign language learning. Besides for the lessons learning, the idea of information literacy maintains crucial position in education. The new technology demands investment of time, effort, money, and self-education, so that the principal question remains: Are we ready for new type of education in order to offer better teaching, more interesting lessons and more importantly, to prepare new generations for future challenges?

The paper describes research on using multimedia educational software for the English language vocabulary within the English language course lesson. The research was conducted by offering two forms of the same learning content. One form consisted of classical paper material, and the other one was in the form of the software. Research was conducted with two groups of learners attending an English course as a foreign language course, i.e. two groups of learners on the same level of English language knowledge. One group dealt with the classical paper material, and the other group dealt with the interactive multimedia software. The learners' existent knowledge of the learning material was pretested at the beginning of both lessons, and both groups of learners got the same final test. The results indicated the great level of disparity between the two groups of learners regarding their acquisition of new vocabulary.
