Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is a public health problem defined as the presence of one or more teeth with carious lesions in children aged 6 years or younger. ECC can affect a child's well-being, growth and quality of life. Factors such as poor oral hygiene, bacterial invasion, poor dietary habits, and the presence of enamel defects can contribute to lesion formation. The risk of ECC may also be due to breastfeeding or formula feeding overnight. The aim of this study to determine the role of breastfeeding and formula feeding through bottles on Early Childhood Caries (ECC). This Scoping Review was conducted according to Preferres Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and two database (PubMed and Google Scholar). The results showed that the initial search yielded 183 documents. After eliminating duplicate studies and screening full-text articles for eligibility (n = 35), we identified 7 studies that met the criteria for inclusion. The duration, frequency and night-time feeding of breast milk and bottle milk supported by other environmental factors may increase the risk of Early Childhood Caries (ECC).

Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is a state of occurrence of decayed (cavities and non cavities), missing (due to caries), or filling on one or more deciduous teeth in children aged ≤ 71 months. Wayne (1999) divided the severity of ECC into three classifications based on clinical signs, causes, and age of the child namely type I (mild), type II (moderate), and type III (severe). The rate of caries incidence is increasing in children who consume milk using bottles. Clinical pattern to ECC caused by bottle feeding has a distinctive pattern, which is about four upper incisors, while four lower incisors usually remain healthy. This study aims to determine the correlation between the history and pattern of bottle feeding and the severity of ECC in children aged 3-5 years in Kuranji District, Padang City. The cause is that children's dietary habits towards high cariogenic foods and awareness about maintaining good and correct oral health are still lacking. Meanwhile, parents, especially mothers, are less concerned about the habit of taking care of children's teeth. The habit of children not taking care of teeth is due to the lack of motivation of mothers in children to do dental prevention, this habit can cause children to experience dental caries and the impact will be very large if dental prevention is not carried out early on in children.Purpose: to find out "the relationship between parental motivation in dental and oral prevention with the incidence of caries in children aged 6-12 years at SDN Sukawening 1 Sukawening District, Garut Regency". Method: Correlative descriptive research method with the research design used is cross sectional, the number of samples is 117 people, ...
