La transformación de Bogotá

This book chapter traces the historical, spatial, demographic, economic and institutional roots of what has been widely regarded as the remarkable transformation of Bogotá, a major Latin American city, from a poorly managed, chaotic urban environment in the 1970s to a ‘model’ city with efficient institutions and a new mass-transit system in the early 2000s. This summarises much of my research over more than a decade on Bogotá’s development until the early 2000s.
