Designing Amazon packaging starts with the customer’s needs and we work backwards from there to deliver an experience they’ll love.

The progress we've made on packaging waste is real—and measurable. Since 2015, we have avoided 4.2 million metric tons of packaging materials, the equivalent weight of more than 480 of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle. And, since 2024, we have removed plastic air pillows from all delivery packaging globally and reduced our total plastic packaging by 16.4% globally.
