The Afternic, Efty and NamePros landers experience

Hello everyone,

This post will be one of the most anticipated by the fellow domain investors who follow my domain investing journey over the years.

Since leaving Afternic in mid October 2025, I moved all my domains to Efty.com for around a month time and finally switched to NamePros.com lander since December 2025.

During this time, I’ve removed all my domains from Afternic and Sedo marketplaces and solely relying on direct leads whether through endusers, brokers or whoever is reaching out directly via email or NamePros lander where I’m using contact form, WhatsApp, X and this website to contact.

Most of the sales have been closed via email communication through NamePros lander and a very few through WhatsApp.

When I decided to leave Afternic, the sales flow was okay but right after deciding, the next two months were the worst ever using Afternic. Not sure what was the reason behind that but it kept getting worse until I left. Since that time, the sales have been pretty slow. It’s like curse of Afternic due to which sales are not happening 😀

Overall, I’m happy with the NamePros lander, support service and plan to continue using them. But sales are not happening according to the expectations. And now with the US/Iran war, flow of inquiries have gone down even further. One thing which I noticed at Afternic was that every month there were some 1200-1400 new leads and I was confident of receiving the similar numbers when I will switch to any other lander. After I moved to Efty and NamePros, I noticed that the number of leads are hardly 50% of what I was receiving at Afternic. This shows that more than half of those leads were bots and were still showing in the lead report. This was pretty disappointing to see and one cannot rely 100% on the number of leads showing in the Afternic lead report. This needs to be improved significantly.

The last time I was managing my own leads was at Uniregistry so it’s been many years gap but the behavior of buyers has not changed. I’ve literally received $3 and $3.3 offers which were their max offers! It’s frustrating to deal with such buyers. And then there are some who threatens to transfer the domain just because they owned it previously and/or have the TM. Oh well, such crazy people to deal with.

For anyone with a small domain portfolio, I suggest to keep their domains with Afternic/Sedo to get as many sales as possible and get additional exposure.

One of the great benefits of managing your own leads with price request lander is that you can recheck your prices and quote accordingly. Not because the buyer is someone with a big budget but the domain value has gone up and you’ve the time to adjust the price accordingly. I’ve saved a lot of money by not paying any commission and also by repricing the domains. There is a lot to learn during this entire process of handling the leads, negotiation, sales process, etc.

Some notable sales I would like to share are:

HMA.CO $9,000 (via WhatsApp). This domain had an asking price of $9,888 but after going back and forth, we settled for $9,000.

ClubSpot.com $50,000 – This domain was a BIN purchase via Efty marketplace. Special thanks to Doron (founder of Efty.com) for making this deal happen smoothly and professionally.

Directory.org $25,000 – This domain had an asking price of $29,888 but after negotiations, I ended up selling it for $25K.

Serafino.com $38,000 (via WhatsApp). The broker who acted on behalf of the buyer was pretty tough and took several months to close the deal. This domain had a asking price of $50,000.

Moess.com $14,000 – This one had an asking price of $19,888 but we settled for $14K NET.

Uniti.net for $8,500 – A broker reached out on behalf of their client. This was initially priced at $9,888.

StormBit.com – Received a $1K offer and quoted $9,888. Going back and forth for around 4 months of negotiations and eventually sold it for $8,500 NET.

MyBestFriends.com $18,500 – The buyer is from Turkey and I quoted $19,888. Negotiation took a couple of months before the domain sold for $18.5K. They’ve upgraded from MyBestFriends.com.tr which is a nice decision.

In rare cases, I bear the escrow fee or split with the buyer depending on the agreed sale amount, situation, etc. Usually it’s the buyer who pay the escrow fees.

Both number and amount of sales have drastically dropped. But I’m very confident of having some good sales happen on a regular basis. Number of sales will not pick up for sure unless the domains get additional exposure but the amount of sales will pick up soon.

In the end, I would like to say that for now, I’m not going back to Afternic/Sedo and plan to continue using NamePros lander.

Thanks to NamePros for providing free landers and top-notch service. Also, thanks to my business partner Jamie Zoch for working with me for the last several years and has always been there during good and tough times.

Problem with GoDaddy custom checkout link

Hello everyone,

Since I left Afternic and their lander and then moved to Efty. Finally settled for NamePros lander, I started dabbling several external escrow services more extensively because that’s going to be used more frequently than ever before.

I’ve mostly used GoDaddy custom checkout link, Sedo, DaaZ.com and Dynadot.com for selling my domains but recently I came across this issue a couple of times where I sent two different buyers GoDaddy checkout link and both said the amount they see was more than what we agreed upon. It was really not good because the amount I was seeing at my end was the same. I even discussed this with my Afternic rep and he told me that it’s most probably the VAT which is getting added.

Now this was troubling because first of all, GoDaddy should not be adding the VAT. Secondly, even if the VAT is added, there is no breakdown given on the checkout page. This may create doubts in the mind of a buyer that the seller might be sending the domain purchase link by increasing the price and that doesn’t give a good impression. After explaining this to my buyers, we then used another escrow service which went smoothly and no hidden addition of VAT charges. After doing some research I came to know that this VAT is added especially for EU buyers. Anyone from GoDaddy can clarify in this regard if anything I’ve shared is not correct information.

Going forward, I’m planning to use the GoDaddy custom checkout link only if they stop adding VAT or only if the buyer insists on using them by knowing that the VAT will be added to the agreed amount of the domain sale.

Excluding those couple of situations, I had a good experience using the GoDaddy checkout link but this issue must be resolved by them as soon as possible.

I would like to know if any one of you have faced this embarrassing situation with the buyer before?

Thank you!

Moved all domains to NamePros lander

Hello everyone,

After moving all my domains to Efty.com, except the 3L .com for which I’m using DaaZ.com lander, I’ve moved all of them to NamePros lander. One of the domains you may check is Beechtree.com

I tried Efty lander for a little over a month and it was a good experience. But because I wanted to try and see which one works well, I’m now trying NamePros lander. Efty provided great support especially Doron who did his best to guide and explain anything I needed, they’ve got plenty of nice features and lander options to choose from. They even have Smart Landers to create your own. I even used EftyPay but unfortunately I cannot disclose any details about the domain name but it was a surprising sale. Doron helped in settling this transaction very smoothly and professionally for which I’m very much thankful for him and his services.

Coming back to NamePros lander, it’s been around 10 days since I’m using it. No doubt the support is great and NP are always happy to listen and implement any necessary feature in order to make the experience better for both domain owners and visitors coming on the lander. I plan to continue using NamePros lander for the time being and will give one suggestion to the NamePros team and that’s to build lander stuff completely unlinked from the NamePros forum. Although NamePros support said that they’re separate services, so if my forums’ account were to be closed, my parking/lander account would still operate normally. They’re managed separately so the closure of one does not affect the other. This was good to hear but I would still prefer my parking/lander and NamePros forum account to be separated.

They’ve a better email verification system as no IP addresses are blocked unlike at Efty due to which some genuine emails also don’t come in order to verify. That’s why I kept email verification disabled at Efty but enabled at NamePros. Also, another nice feature which NamePros have is BANT qualification. Visitors must answer questions about their BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) to help you prioritize opportunities and assess domain value, based on this sales framework. By default, you’ll only be notified after these questions are answered, but you can choose to be notified beforehand. I haven’t enabled this feature because I don’t feel the need for it.

Overall, I’m inclined towards NamePros lander more and plan to continue using it.

Feel free to give your feedback regarding Efty and/or NamePros landers.

Thank you!

My first sale using Efty lander

Hello everyone,

There was a lot of positive feedback and slight bit of backlash from fellow domain investors after I posted that I’m leaving Afternic. It’s fine as everyone has their own opinion and experiences and I respect their views. It’s been 10 days since I moved to Efty lander which is exciting and challenging as well in many ways. To deal with the inquiries, spam, negotiations, tweaking the landers, etc.

So in the last 10 days there were plenty of new inquiries and many lowball offers and not actually looking to buy the domain even though the lander clearly has a message. I wonder what people are thinking when submitting the form or contacting via email/WhatsApp for the stuff not related to buying the domain.

This is the story of my first sale which happened after moving to Efty lander. It all started in May 2025 when the buyer approached for one of my domains via WhatsApp and email. I quoted $6,888. At that time, the domain was using Afternic lander but I was approached directly. He asked if there is any possibility of buying at a lower price like $5,000. I then revised my price to $6,500 in order to strike the deal.

The moment he noticed the revised price, he backtracked from his 5K offer and said that now he can offer $3,000 after taking another look at the analytics of the domain and ranking of it. After no response from my side, I got another email asking my final price. With such an attitude and non-seriousness behavior, I still remained firm at $6,500 to which he agreed this time. The story didn’t end here! The buyer created an account with escrow.com and to me he offered $4,000! I declined the offer. So he started escrow.com transactions with an amount of $3,500. Now he started messing with me by initiating the transaction without my permission or asking for my escrow.com email address and secondly he started with the amount which was never mutually agreed.

In total, he started 7 transactions at Escrow.com from May 2025 till October 2025 which I always cancelled. Considering the overall situation, I revised the price to $9,888 and informed him the same because he was bugging me every now and then through email. Obviously he got furious and blamed me and brought in a religious touch as well in the middle and more. I didn’t budge from my new asking price because that was simply annoying behavior and non-seriousness in every way.

As soon as I changed the lander from Afternic to Efty, the same guy contacted me via Efty lander so I quoted him $9,888 and told him the price will remain the same. He asked if I could accept the old price of $6,888 which I declined. Then a new offer of AUD$10,000 was presented which I declined. And then came in US$8,888. I lowered it to $9,000 and made it clear that this new revised price is valid for the next 48 hours.

To my surprise, the payment was made using an escrow service and I received full $9,000 NET without paying any commission. Usually I’ve shared domains while sharing any domain sale but in this case, due to the entire situation, I prefer not to disclose the domain name for the sake of that person’s reputation.

Takeaway for domain investors: Stay firm on your asking price and always remember that you’re in the driving seat since you own the domain name.

Feel free to share your feedback no matter how good or good that is 😉

Experience using UnstoppableDomains.com

Hello everyone,

After I left Uniregistry.com which was later acquired by GoDaddy and then shut down for no good reasons, I moved all my domains to Dynadot.com.

Several months back, I came to know about UnstoppableDomains.com who came out with some unique and aggressive marketing strategy by offering free .com domain transfers with no real catch other than you just need to keep the domains there for 1 year period and if you sell any of your transferred domain during that period, you’ll have to pay their usual .com transfer fee which I believe is fair enough.

To be frank, I was hesitant to move my domains there but after getting a lot of feedback from fellow domain investors, I finally decided to give it a go and moved a few hundreds of domains out to UnstoppableDomains.com. I was provided with a special offer from Brady who is a great guy to talk to. I’m not sure for how long this great offer will continue but they offer free .com transfers for domain investors having a large portfolio. So there is no harm in getting in touch with them and seeing if your portfolio fits this great offer.

I like the UI and managing the domains which are pretty easy to understand. Overall, the page loading speed is quick. Currently they’re offering Sedo MLS and I hope they’ll be coming up soon with the Afternic DLS as well. However, since this is a new registrar, there are several bugs/issues which need to be fixed. I’ve informed the team and I hope it’s been in the works. Overall, I’m impressed with this registrar and I sincerely wanted to thank Brady and the UnstoppableDomains.com team for offering me a special deal of .com transfers.

One suggestion I wanted to give is if they can start offering external escrow service for domains not listed with them or using their landers.

It would be good if any of my readers can share their experience using UnstoppableDomains and how it works for them?

Thank you!
