To measure its impact within the four public good impact themes through a program evaluation, as well as evaluate IDH impact at corporate level, IDH has requested Wageningen University & Research (WUR) & KPMG Advisory N.V. (further ‘KPMG’) to design and conduct a five-year impact evaluation program. This program is implemented between 2016 and 2020, and supervised by the IDH Impact Committee. This study is the first report of the impact evaluation program. In it, we provide a first synthesis of the available impact evidence for each impact theme as well as per result area. The synthesis combines information on IDH’s contribution to public good impact so far and information from the literature on the impact of and lessons learnt from similar approaches, to come to conclusions on the plausibility of IDH’s approach.

Upscaling climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices requires, among others, an enabling financial system. When smallholders introduce CSA practices on their farms, this usually requires them to invest. Some of the farmers may need loans to finance such investments, while others prefer to use their savings or another source of funds. Climate change may also alter the farmers’ cash flow patterns and volatility throughout the season. Together, these factors may trigger farmers to demand new services from the financial system around them.

In deze notitie wordt inzicht gegeven in de ontwikkeling van de prijs van varkensrechten in de afgelopen vijf jaar, en de verwachte ontwikkeling van de prijs van de varkensrechten in 2019-2021. Deze informatie wordt gebruikt voor een advies aan het Ministerie van LNV over een marktconforme vergoeding voor varkensrechten, in het kader van de voorgenomen Sanerings- en Beeindigingsregeling voor varkenshouders.
