Installation Guide

Use this guide to install, activate, and set up WP Extended Pro on a standard WordPress site. No multisite steps or terminal commands included.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8+ and PHP 7.4+ (latest recommended)
  • Administrator access
  • WP Extended Pro ZIP from your account

Installation Methods

  • Option A: Upload ZIP (recommended)
    1. Download the latest WP Extended Pro ZIP from your account.
    2. In WordPress Admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
    3. Select the ZIP → Install Now → Activate.
    4. Confirm “WP Extended Pro” appears under Plugins.
  • Option B: Manual via SFTP/FTP
    1. Unzip the package on your computer.
    2. Upload the folder to wp-content/plugins/wpextended-pro/.
    3. In WordPress Admin → Plugins, click Activate for “WP Extended Pro”.

After Activation

  • Open Settings: Admin → WP Extended → Modules.
  • Enable Modules: Toggle on the features you need.
  • Configure: Click into each enabled module to set options.
  • License & Updates:
    • Enter your license at WP Extended → Settings → License (if required).
    • Enable auto‑updates so you receive new features and fixes.

Updates

  • From WordPress Admin: Go to Plugins and click “Update now” when available.
  • Auto‑updates: In Plugins, enable “Auto‑updates” for WP Extended Pro.

Uninstall

  • Remove from Admin: Plugins → Deactivate → Delete.
  • Optional data removal: If available, turn on “Delete data on uninstall” in WP Extended → Settings → Tools before deleting.

Troubleshooting

  • “Could not create directory”
    • Make sure your hosting account has enough disk space.
    • Check with your host to correct file permissions if the installer can’t write to wp-content/plugins/.
  • Version requirements error
    • Update WordPress/PHP to the minimum supported versions.
  • Settings not visible / changes not applying
    • Clear any page, object, or CDN caches.
    • Re-save permalinks: Settings → Permalinks → Save.
    • Temporarily switch to a default theme and disable other plugins to rule out conflicts.

Staging/Local Tips

  • Test on a staging site first.
  • If using local tools (e.g., Local, DevKinsta, MAMP), restart services if you see caching glitches.
  • Clear any must‑use or object caches after enabling new modules.
