Email Marketing Integrations: Connecting the Dots

The Money Is In The List

A spin wheel without an integration is just a toy. A spin wheel with an integration is a business asset.

The primary goal of the Ultimate Spin Wheel is List Building. But collecting emails in a WordPress database isn’t enough. You need that data in your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool instantly, so you can trigger a “Welcome Series” automation while the lead is hot.

This guide outlines our Marketing Automation capabilities.

1. Native Integrations vs. Webhooks

We offer two types of connections.

A. Native Integrations (API)

We have built “First Class” support for the giants of the industry.

  • Mailchimp: Full support for Audiences, Tags, and Groups.
  • MailPoet: Direct database insertion for WordPress’s favorite newsletter plugin.
  • Benefits:
    • Dropdowns: You don’t need to hunt for IDs. We show you a dropdown of your lists.
    • Feedback: We can tell you exactly why an error occurred (e.g., “Invalid Email”).

B. Universal Webhooks (Zapier/Pabbly)

For everyone else (ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, ConvertKit, AWeber, Brevo, HubSpot), we use Webhooks.

  • Standard: We send a JSON payload to any URL you provide.
  • Benefits:
    • Flexibility: Connect to 5,000+ apps.
    • Power: Send data to Google Sheets, Slack, and Klaviyo simultaneously.

2. Data Mapping (What We Send)

When a user wins, we don’t just send their email. We send a rich profile.

  • Email: The core identifier.
  • First Name / Last Name: (If enabled in form).
  • Phone: (If enabled).
  • Prize Won: We send the label (e.g., “10% Off”). You can use this to segment users!
    • Strategy: Create a segment in Mailchimp for “Won Free Shipping” and send them product recommendations under $50.
  • Coupon Code: The specific code they won.
  • Spin Date: Timestamp of the event.

3. Segmentation Strategy

Don’t treat all leads the same.

  • Tags: In our Mailchimp integration, you can apply a static tag (e.g., Source: SpinWheel) to every lead.
  • Prize-Based Automation: In Zapier, you can use “Paths” to send different emails based on the prize.
    • Winner (Jackpot): Send personal email from Founder.
    • Winner (5%): Send generic “Here is your code” email.
    • Loser: Send “So close! Try again next week” email.

4. Resilience & Reliability

Your marketing funnel cannot break just because the internet flickers.

  • Queue System: We don’t block the user execution. The API calls happen asynchronously.
  • Validation: We validate the email locally (MX checks) before sending it to your CRM, protecting your CRM pricing tier from fake emails.
  • Logging: Every sync is recorded. See Integration Logs for details.

5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I connect multiple services?
A: Yes. You can have Mailchimp AND Zapier enabled at the same time. The plugin will send data to both.

Q: Does it support Double Opt-in?
A: Yes. For Mailchimp, there is a setting “Enable Double Opt-in.” If checked, the user receives a confirmation email from Mailchimp before they are added to the list. Note: This lowers conversion but increases list quality.

Q: What if I change my API key?
A: The connection will break immediately. You must go to the plugin settings and update the key. Then use the “Manual Sync” feature to retry any failed leads.

Q: Is this GDPR Compliant?
A: Yes. By connecting an integration, you are transferring data to a third party (Processors). You should update your Privacy Policy to state: “We use Mailchimp to manage our newsletter.” The plugin itself facilitates this transfer securely using SSL/TLS encryption.

Conclusion

Lead Nurturing starts the second the wheel stops spinning. By integrating robustly with your marketing stack, you ensure that the excitement of the game translates into long-term customer value.
