The Wound Healing Society was founded in May of 1989. In spite of its young age, the Society has become the premiere international organization focusing on the clinical and basic science of wound healing. The Society continues to grow rapidly with a membership now exceeding 900 members.
The Society's objectives include providing a venue for the exchange of biomedical information, fostering training in wound healing, supporting wound research, serving as a resource and unified authority to government agencies and corporations, and disseminating information in the area of tissue repair. These objectives attract a diverse membership of physicians, researchers, nurses, clinical investigators, patient care providers, industry representatives, and students.
