Please make a screenshot of all the redirects you have setup in the plugin.
When any update is done the default WP maintenance page is shown, not a custom one. It’s like that with all maintenance plugins, as it’s a built-in WP core feature.

This is the first time we’ve heard about this issue. We’ll look into it, but this plugin really doesn’t touch images, even if they are a part of a link.
